Tiesto in Concert!!!!

i was wondering, does anyone know why tiesto is "in concert", but no other djs are considered "in concert"?

is this going to be his slogan whenever he spins for now on or something?

kinda' like how keoki branded himself "super star dj keoki"?

so now instead of tiesto it will forever be "tiesto in concert"?

is he doing a live pa or something?

i just don't get why they call it "in concert" cuz it's not a band and it's just a party with a dj at the sports arena, they have a few of those each year and it's never referred to as a concert???

anyone with any insight into this "concert", thanks!

I think the "concert" thing is mostly marketing hype. I believe he does have a few tracks of his own that made it "big" in the electronic genre. I saw videos of him in packed arenas (I think mostly in Europe) , it's gonna be interesting how the LA gig is gonna be. There has to be a few other artists that must be in the lineup because I dont really seeing an arena packed just for one pseudo-DJ / "performing artist" Has anyone seen any flyers for this event?

This is not an ordinary standerd set you would see from Tiesto in a club. This is something very special and something you do not want to miss!

For the past 2 years (as you know) Tiesto has put on "in concert" shows in his home land. Now he is doing that same thing here in the US!!


During the show there will be sights, sounds, and vissuals that will blow your Mind. Tiesto will not be interrupted during his 4 hour set.

To answer your question: as any one seen flyiers??? I take it do you not go out a lot.. But every weekend I have a few flyers on my car, and I have seen huge singes on city light posts!

yeah i 've seen the flyers all over the place, and the big ones on all kinds of lightposts and whatnot all over hollywood surrounding areas

i agree, too much $$$ for tiesto, although, i'm not a big tiesto fan (loved some of the magik mixes, #6 and #7 are nice)....

i'm sure those that go and are into him will have a great time, i love that venue btw, can't wait for monster massive

Well if you have seen the Flyers you know what the stage looks like!!! That is the very stage they bulit for this event!!!

Here is what I found regarding the set up...

""this set is rediculous. i was in holland for the shows this year, and this US show is unique and i'd have to say even better b/c the room is half the size but the production has an even bigger footprint for the scale. it is well beyond even what i expected and i've watched the event grow from day one.

the show was loaded in over the last five days, the set is better then what it looks like on the flyers. it's massive, the light rig has 46 hanging points, the sound is wicked, with almost 80 feet of sub base, the lighting crew has programmed amazing looks, beyond anythign i've seen at any festival or DJ event, the LED surround and the wall are crisp and tower around the custom DJ booth, the visuals are insane.

today i watched the aerial acts rehearse, heard the sound check which gave me actual chills, saw the lasers getting dialed in. dress rehearsal on Friday and the gig Saturday, which promises to be at or close to sell out.

i may have a bit of bias here but i am fairly confident no one has seen a show like this one in NOrth America. anyone who comes to this gig will be blown away. i have been involved with a thousand gigs over the years, at least, and this one will be the best hands down. i wish we were doing a dvd of this show so even the people who can't make it could check it out"

tiesto plays dj gigs every weekend but has done the "in concert" only twice...in a huge stadium in holland 25k heads, and at disneyland in Paris. It is not just a dj gig but will contain live vocals, has previously had a live violin player, and is designed more like a concert then a party or rave (hence the assigned seating tickets). He is the back to back to back #1 most popular dj in the world and has booked by far the biggest gig ever...the opening ceremony of the summer olympics in Athens 04.

His set will be unlike anything seen before in the US and will take the electronic music experience to a new level. For those that do not necessarily dig tiesto's style....it still we be an event w/jaw dropping production that should not be missed by any electronic music lover. Massives occur in LA several times a year, this may not come to La again.

this is the first i'm hearing of possible singing and an actual instrument being played

(yes i know a turntable can be an instrument, i doubt he'll be cuttin' n scratchin' though...)

well yeah, if he actually has singing and real instruments being played then i totally understand it being called a "concert"

and a sidenote: if i had tons of cash to blow i would take my lady and we'd both have a smashing time on the dancefloor of the sports arena with tiesto
