The Gist : Two drum kits, 3 computers, 3 keyboards, 1 guitar, 2 CDJ's, 2 turntables, 2 mc's and 6 performers. This is the DnB Liberation Front. The DNBLF. The DnB Liberation Front lineup features American heavyweights Dstar, Mason, Infiltrata, Focus of Basic Operations, Beet & Bad Lieutenant (live), with MC’s Sharpness and Armanni Reign. All of which, represent some of the biggest labels in drum and bass (Metalheadz, TEKDBZ, C.I.A., Freak, Renegade Hardware, Barcode, Bingo, Human, Habit, Gasm, OG, Zeropoint, and Obscene to name a few), proving to be a tour de force of the North American scene. The tour, a first of this kind for the drum and bass industry in America, does away withthe traditional time slotted, dj dominated events, by providing audiences with an actual performance based show. Mixing live instrumentation, dj’ing, and Mc’ing into a mish mash styled event. “We really wanted to prove to the American drum and bass scene thatthis music belongs on the big stages, that people really want to see and hear this style ofmusic.” says Mason. Bad Lieutenant chimes in, “There’s a huge focus on the European talent getting all the good gigs, we just figured there was power in numbers, and it’s time for audiences to see the big names our own continent has.” In January 2006, the first DNBLF tour did an amazing 14 dates in 16 days, all by 12 passenger van. Earning their stripes the crew logged over 7000 road miles, including a 16 hour drive from hurricane torn New Orleans to Boston for it's last show. Having already killed cities such as Philadelphia, Cleveland, Chicago, New Orleans, SaintLouis, Lexington, Greensboro, New York City, Boston, Cincinnati, and Washington DC, America seems ready to embraceThe DnBLF. MC Sharpness sums up the it's purpose. “The new frontier of music entertainment is upon us, and The DnB Liberation Front is set to deliver the propaganda of a new era." |
