Open House @ Kadan

What up peeps? I checked out Open House @ Kadan Bar in University Heights lastnight. I haven't been out in a while and must say it was a good time! Small place but the dancefloor was jammin all night until close (2am=poo!). Dope spot for anyone who loves hard rockin breaks. Bauqai (sp?) who I think is a resident dj of this funktion threw down some dope tracks (some oldskool sh*t too, props). There were some ill dancers burnin up the dancefloor, blacklights all over the joint, pumpin sound system.

Not sure how often Monkey Do will be doing this event (I think monthly) but I definitely recommend this event to anybody looking for a nice place to boogie without all the usual Gaslamp District hype. If you happen to be in from outta town and looking for that small, closely-knit, flavored underground vibe; On Broadway, faghettaboutit. Go to Open House. Dan, if you read this, leave some info foo!

Yeah that was Dj Baquai? throwin' down, he's been a major part of the S.D. underground for a loooong time. Same w/ Jon Brae and especially with Garrett S.
We're talking early 1990's San Diego scene.
Just because it's a 21+ event doesn't mean we're your typical Gaslamp type crowd. It's actually alot of oldskool party kids, just a lil' grown up.
Open House is all about gettin' down and gettin' freaky.
Everyone is welcome, as long as dancing is your agenda

And on January 14th were doing a special edition all oldskool edition of Open House. Nothing but classic acid, techno, house, trance and breaks from the late 80's to the mid 90's.
Hope to see more of the Ravelinks community next time.
I know S.D. sucks as far as all night underground events go, but if you can, at least support what we do have.
