I very much love the gathering of friends and all that good stuff...
But whats wrong with a little competition? Yeah its judged by people and we have no idea what they base their opinions. We can only hope that out creativeness will be enough to win. I love everything lights. In fact its one of the major reasons I joined the rave scene. Dont be a kill joy by telling me that by me wanting to do this that "im gayesy of gay town." |

But I respect what tofu thinks and its hard for me to wrap my mind around him putting other people down for what they do. I really dont think hosting this thing is such a bad thing.

I know for a fact that anyone who is legitimately good at lightshows (those who know, know what I'm talking about) is laughing at this contest. Something tells me the person who wins this will be the guy who can fit the most trails in a 5' circle with no technique, style, flow, or control at all.
I feel sad to say that the -true- art of lightshows is being washed out by too many people just waiving lights in the faces of e-tards and thinking that's "good". For once, I will stand by Tofu and agree with his post. It's sad because the handful of people I know that are truly good at lightshows are burning out on it because their art has been turned into an embarrassment by n00bs who have no appreciation for the true skill involved in -good- lightshows. |
