Richie Hawtin too, nice!
Cosmic Gate.......everyone DOES realize that they dont spin hardtrance anymore right?? Their style TOTALLY changed from the 'exploration of space' days.....nowadays its more progressive/electro influenced stuff. go listen to 'body of conflict' or 'a day that fades'......their newer stuff or any tunes by Nic Chagall (one of the members of cos gate) their remix of Armin's 'this world is watching me' is one of their better electro-prog tracks. Just to clear things up so you wont walk away disapoitned!!! Still a kickass performance guaranteed though, alot of people have been asking for them back in Socal, so props for booking a headliner people want to see ![]() and fuck, if they do spin Exploration, The Truth, Firewire.......or any of their other classics, that would be dope! |

one thing that i've noticed about Artists and Dj's is that they sound different live then what their albums sound like, i mean they still have their feel to the way they play 'n all, but it makes me rethink on what to say about their music.
But! i've also noticed that when they play stuff that is pretty much str8 from their album, fans arent too impressed, even if they dont say so. IMO that is |

i dont know, i just listened to body of conflict, and it still sounds like the good o'l Cosmic to me.
its not like Fire wire or Analog Feel, but it still has that 'Dark hillside tribal trance' feel. im just anxious to see them live, see how different they sound, and how they work the crowd. ![]() |

in fact, its only in los angeles that these djs change their entire style for their live shows. take paul oakenfolds tanked out epic trance set at EDC last year or christopher lawrances set at noc 08 compared to his set in norcals POP last year. he went from spinning straight up tech and psytrance in SF to playing a pretty safe slowed down set for LA. they all seem to think that we wanna hear a certain sound or something....but we dont, and most of them wind up dissapointing. but then again, they really dont give a flying FUCK about playing the US at all. most these trance djs and their bookers are arrogant and want to charge us european massive prices to book their djs for medium(6000) to semi large shows(which are actually quite small compared to euro shows). the hardstyle djs are the worst though. they really dont give 2 shits about breaking into the US because theyre cleaning up across europe making hella bank. the netherlands djs all seem to be good sports about it though and spin the production we wanna hear. i guess over there songs dont play out as fast or theyre just suckers for crowd pleasing haha. either way it works. basically, if your a producer, you better damn well play your fucking songs for the crowd. luring people in with good songs you wrote then playing a whole set of other peoples random tracks is false advertising. it would be like going to see your fav band and they play nothing but covers all night. youd feel cheated and not be excited to see them again. well thats what happens here |
