![]() ![]() Music Production Workshop Saturday | November 3, 2007 | 2-6pm Portland State University Tru Productions, Spun Academy and Metakinetics are pleased to announce a 4 hour *in-depth* music production workshop taking place at Portland State University. Come and learn hard-earned music production techniques and secrets from Real Time Hand Motion and Epsylon, both successful performing artists who also teach on a regular basis. The workshop will be centered around Ableton's Live 6 software as a production, recording and performance tool, but will also cover the use of MIDI controllers and tangible interfaces such as the TrapKAT and reacTivision for hands-on creation and control of your music in real-time. Prizes will be given away to lucky workshop attendants, including a full copy of Ableton Live 6. If you're thinking about getting into the world of original music production or would like to attain a greater mastery of the art, this is an event not to be missed! Real Time Hand Motion Real Time Hand Motion is a trans-genre Live PA made up of EDM producers Carson Carr & Christian Thomas. RTHM takes the studio to the stage with electronic drum pads, keyboards and other midi gear to control EXCLUSIVE tracks in ways that are impossible with turntables or CD decks. They've currently got tracks in the record boxes of Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, DJ Heather, DJ Sneak, The Sound Republic, Joey Youngman, Bobby & Klein, DJ Mes, Diz, Chuck Daniels, and many more. With a completely unique take on performing live electronic music, Real Time Hand Motion are the ones to keep an eye on for big things in ‘07. Brennan Murphey) has been obsessed with making strange noises with synthesizers since 1994, producing countless compositions ranging in style from hip-hop to psytrance. He is a Berklee College of Music B.E.S.T. Guitar Scholarship Laureate, founder of Metakinetics, licensed college professor in the State of Oregon, and organizer of many events including Portland's psytrance monthly "Sacred Space" and the Contact Festival. He can be found twiddling knobs in his basement studio, teaching music production at Spun Academy in downtown Portland, or on stage across the west coast alongside other legendary trance acts such as Osiris Indriya, Sirius Isness, and Rabbit In the Moon. He is currently writing a book about music production which he plans to publish early in 2008.
