I think the closest places you're gonna find anything remotely fun near Johnson City is in Knoxville, or Asheville, NC if you're willing to make the trip. There's a massive going on in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] the weekend of 4/20, and I'm sure there are weekly things in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Sorry I couldn't be of better service, but it's TN, the scene's not exactly huge here.

Stir Fry Cafe attempts to hold occasional events where you may hear some electronic music or may catch an okay DJ.

Chrome is opening in April and is projected to be Johnson City's first high energy dance club... guess we will see... I will say getting DJ Slink is a step in the right direction.

New Beginnings (gay club) is probably the closest scene in Johnson City that could be found to be "rave-esque".

Most people's idea of what good night life should be is reflected in the region. Most do not desire true high energy night life because of their perceptions of it... if they even have one... Maybe it is just because they haven't seen it?

Terry Grant being in Johnson City could have been big for this area. But the turn-out of the event may go to show it will be a while before this area will advance...

thanks for the help....new beginnings sucks...even if you're not gay, people still hit on you that you don't want...but i guess that happens at any bar...will be looking for the new one coming in April....trying to get some of my friends to get together and find a field to party in, especially since it's getting warmer!!!! and i don't mind traveling to Asheville either...I have a friend living there for right now, so i at least have a place to stay....but it's like you said, what can you expect in tennessee? I hear Knoxville has a "no rave" law....I just want somewhere we can be ourselves, party our asses off, and not worry about the cops....let me know what's coming in Asheville PLEASE!!!! I'll let you know as more develops on my end...thanx and please keep replying....I NEED TO LET LOOSE AND HAVE FUN!!!!!!!

It's a lil' pricey, but I'm sure it's worth it. I know a few people who live in Asheville, but as always, there not really into raving or dancing (strange...) But I'll keep a lookout. There's going to be an event in Nashville May 10th, at Rocketown, I'll be going to. It's being thrown by these guys who usually do events in the Franklin area. I hear they're pretty good, but we'll see in May, I guess. In the meantime, good luck on your search!
