Garden: One Year Anniversary, Friday Dec 7th

Garden, Taos' new-moon multi-media monthly, celebrates its year anniversary on Saturday December 7th 2007. What began as a seed of a thought has now grown into a abundantly rich array of creative expression. Garden began with the premise that like people, a garden has an assortment of species, color, shapes, each with a unique role that contributes the whole. As people we have various forms of expression and talents that make us unique, and when we come together an amazing synergy is created. Garden is all about nurturing the creative spirit that humans all share, though expression may come in different shapes and forms, i.e.. dance, music, poetry, performance art, visual art, live instrumentation etc., cultivating this expression helps to maintain life and health. Sharing our expression with one another connects us on a basic level and nurtures hope in our lives, which in turn produces growth, life, abundance, fruit. From the first edition of Garden in December - "Spirit Seeds," to "Transplant" to a larger venue in May, to last months "Harvest" edition Garden continues to grow and flourish.

Guests this past year have provided a full spectrum of expression from djs to performance art to poetry. Guests have included dj/producer Joe DiPadova (ONE - Phoenix, AZ), Spettro (Austin, TX), electro, breaks dj Friction (San Francisco, CA), Hip-Hop aficionado Dj Nova (Los Angeles, CA), Billa (Albuquerque, NM) and Funk Facilitator, Adem Joel (Albuquerque, NM). Resident dj and founder of Garden Chrystalline - pumping the dance floor with funky beats. Also, local djs including Taos favorite breaks djs Sablazo and Ryan Leon, Afro-Soul and Hip-Hop producer Dj Sasha, Soulful House energy raiser Dj Lenox. Spoken word Performances by Dine Power-house Poet Lyla Johnston and Taos Pueblo Native Honey Coral Bernal, Live music sets by the high energy One Man Band Christof Brownell, Michael Angelo Davis Band, and keys accompaniment with CJ Bernal. Belly dance performances by Solara, and Object Manipulations by Circus Mischief. Live visual art by Jaap Vanderplas Photography and Digital Visual stimulation by Chameleon. Truly Garden has evolved into a life of its own, with a variety of expression and beautiful assortment of colors, shapes and sizes.

Special thanks to all who have supported Garden this past year. All the performers, djs, poets, artists that make Garden what it is.
