Sorry baby, but they don't have "raves" down here anymore. Your options are clubs in San Antonio, Austin, Houston, and Dallas that play the music, waiting for a good DJ to come to town, or house parties. A lot of people throw private parties down here, but you have to get on the distribution list, which is challenging, especially if you're new.

i think its crazy that with FIESTA and SXSW and all that in our area there wouldnt be more raves going on? i mean they have all other types of music and parties, why not throw a kick ass rave to even it all out? Not like im offering, im only 17...ahah....but its hard for me to belive that the scean is dead with all the music/party events we have in the area

I am 21-f and in San Antonio.. and pretty much know the scene.. but i dont party much with people under 21.. (only bc you can't get in anywhere).. now house parties are another story.
anyone interested in going out one night should let me know, we could all meet up and throw down a mini-rave at one of the local clubs, and i have a lot of house parties.. its finally about to be summer time... i mean, i pretty much know where all the local DJs spin on a regular basis.. plus i usually know when DJs come to town.. if you need a hookup on the night scene in SA.. i can tell you where and when.. (yes, even you 17 year olds, although your selection might be limited).. just PM me if your bored.. ![]() Hey but in response to your message, really what genre? House, progressive trance, tekno, breaks.. theres something for everyone here, but you have to say what you're into.. As for the underground scene, you have to be "in like sin" before you get onto one of those lists.. ![]() |

RED 7 611 e. 7th street Austin TX Tickets: On sale NOW at [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] LIMITED $10 presales! May 10th, 2006 REID SPEED (HOUSE & BREAKS SET!) DRUM + BASS // 2 STEP // BREAKBEAT SCIENCE // DIRECT DRIVE // NYC 2 STEP R-r-r-r-reeeeewind! Reid Speed = The USA's first lady of Drum & Bass, now taking you to an unexpected musical place. You can see it in her face, her love of music will transport you to outer space. Have a listen. I dare you to not care. A born & raised New Yorker with 9 years of experience behind the decks, she now calls Venice Beach home but has never mellowed in her mission to make booty shake worldwide. Whether she is working a movie premiere (Pirates of the Carribean, Texas Chainsaw Massacre), a fashion event, (J.Lindeberg, Diesel) a superclub (Buzz, Sonar, Spundae, Limelight, Tunnel, Exit, Space, 1015 Folsom to name only a few) an intimate lounge, a TV Show (Jamie Kennedy Experiment, Spike TV’s MDN) or a monastery on top of a mountain in Puerto Rico- one can never deny that Speed means business on the dancefloor. She makes girls wind their bottoms and boys, well, you know how boys are. Her weapons of selection range from all genres of drum & bass to nu skool breaks, 2 step, 4/4 garage, dark progressive tribal house, and remixes galore- often all in one set. These days, when not on the “Cat Scratch Fever” tour with scratchmistress DJ Annalyze , rinsing drum & bass & house loving dancefloors with cat-pimping fury, or promoting her brand new Icebreaker monthly event at Spundae, Reid has been focused on getting her original production up to snuff and out into the world. Mainly using Propellerheads’ Reason software with instances of Cubase & Pro Tools Reid has gotten serious about the quality of her work. Reid & NYC’s Jon(S) have signed their new skool ragga track "The Bizzle" to NYC-based d&b label Big H Recordings, and they also finished a still untitled and unsigned smasher, possibly for them as well. With MC Dino she completed “Frustabumbaclot (Junglist Anthem)” which is currently rinsing out dancefloors on CDR. Additionally, she has spent the past year working with hip-hop/drum & bass/horrorshow DMC champ DJ Swamp on a heavy metal/ rock/ drum & bass /hip hop side project. With many more solo and collaborative tunes on the way towards a speaker near you, this would be an excellent time to get down with her sound. Having freshly judged the Beauty & the Beats contest with fellow top female DJs Rap & Colette, Reid made this year’s BPM list of the world’s top 150 DJs, presented awards at the IDMA show at this year’s Winter Music Conference (and performed several standout shows there including Ultra & Future Sound of Breaks) and will begin the Beauty & the Beats Tour this fall alongside Rap, Colette & J- Phlip, the contest winner. Look out! Herstory: As the first female junglist to emerge on the NYC scene back in 1997, she quickly made a name for herself with residencies at drum & bass weeklies Camouflage, Direct Drive, and as a member of the infamous Stuck On Earth crew, at the biggest rave events in New York. By 1998, after landing a job at legendary drum & bass store Breakbeat Science and sending out hundreds of mixtapes, she began touring the US, playing alongside every UK drum & bass producer/DJ from Aphrodite to Zinc as well as holding her own alongside headliners of all genres. Fast forward to 2001, Reid released her first licensed mix CD, "Resonance" on Breakbeat Science Recordings. A 40 date tour sponsored by Mixer Magazine followed and her fire started to catch on. She began garnering praise and a whole bunch of new fans. Upon wrapping that tour Reid packed up her life to move west. But she could not rest, instead, she jumped on a 30 date bus tour with breakbeat kings Ming & FS. She became a press favorite, winning accolades like the Fader and Flyer Magazine's "Best Of" 2001 lists, Urb's "Jungle Stars" of 2002, and many more hard-earned accolades. In 2003 she followed up her well-received debut with the smashing "Life After Dark", her unique interpretation of a dancefloor drum & bass set. Coinciding with this release she was tapped by Triple 5 Soul to model their fall 2003 campaign alongside Jean Grae, Charlie Dark & Peanut Butter Wolf. Then, in an exciting twist of fate she won the part of the 2003/2004 on-air DJ for the Jamie Kennedy Experiment in a closed round of auditions against dozens of all-male, all hip-hop & scratch DJs. For the show she was able to introduce drum & bass to network television! (and not in a car commercial) From this she was tapped to shoot one episode of the short-lived MDN on men's network Spike TV. As fun as all that was, Reid has never lost sight of what she loves to do. Her genuine goal in life is to keep rocking out sick tunes on ever-more-massive soundsystems, to ever-more fun loving crowds! LOCal support by: DAVEED (bucklup) DJ DEE (fusion inc.)
