Please tell me I am wrong. I moved here from Boston MA A month ago and I cant find any fuckin Techno whatsoever!

from what i hear austin's scene is kinda at a standstill, not really much up and comin. barcelona is a good spot, although i hear the crowd and the vibe are not nearly as good as the music. check out the psy events near austin they are killer. shivatrance.com, myspace.com/extremeunderground, and area512.com might be good places to check for parties. sometimes Demarkus lewis goes to austin and other house headliners will probably be there but i only hear about that on dallasdancemusic.com

I just saw Frankie Bones at Sky on Saturday night. The place was packed and Frankie dropped some pretty nasty Techno.

pretty much in Austin, you are limited to Sky, Barcelon, and Club Red 7.

Club Red 7 blows balls, clubs sucks, sound sucks, atmosphere sucks, but they somehow seem to get good DJ's. Just went and saw Lee Combs not too long ago, I just hate the club...

Barcelona isn't too bad, nothing special there. Think I saw Charles Feelgood there, but I may be wrong, don't remember much from that night.

Sky is the best in Austin by far IMO. Honestly, its the only club I even like going to downtown anymore, and they have alot of good DJ's come through. Last show I saw there was James Lavelle and was absolutely kickass! Although the opening DJ was absolutely awful, name was Dave something or other


But in all seriousness, Austin does have some good shows come through, just check Teknosounds, they keep their shows updated regularly. And Molina actually kicks ass, haha. Man, you rocked when you opened for Lavelle, I was getting in to your set!

Red 7 is defunct now and Sky is closing to reformat as 80s or something. John Digweed is coming up though..should be a good show.
