Psy or Goa

I'm looking for anything/anywhere in the houston area that is going to have Psy-trance or Goa. A club, an event, anything. I'm dying for my psy fix.

not much of a psy scene down there im afraid. its mostly centered in austin, and some parties take place near dallas as well.
check out tribe.net, there is a tribe called SGOA , and texaspsycampers, you should join them to find out about any psy events in the texas scene.

and if you dont like the fact that houston has no psy scene, well, start one yourself.

I've been throwing around that idea lately...any ideas on how to get started, i'd love for there to be something in that genre around here.

well. you can start first by building a fan base. get some people exposed to the music. i dont know what dance music clubs houston has, but that would be the place to start. having a weekly is extremely valuable in getting a psy scene kick started, so try to find a bar or a club that would let you do a psy night once a week. find the burning man and raver people in your area, since these are the likely canidates for infecting with the psyvyrus.
once you get a good fan base started for psytrance, then you can move to throwing parties. crystal beach is a good spot near houston for a party, just be sure to keep it on the hush hush. close knit is always good. if all else fails, move to dallas or austin.

right so im into psy, but what the hell is goa? If you start throwing things or what ev then hit me up for some hometown support... I want houston to pick up their EDM scene... some of the clubs have a house/trance night but its always weak.

Goa is kind of like the precursor to psytrance. everyone has a different definition and explanation of its 'difference' from psytrance, but personally I think psytrance has more astral and tweeky effects. Goa comes from the name where the music originate, Goa, India, where a huge community of hippies settled just after the 60s. As far as the parties go, the biggest problems I foresee involve finding djs and equipment, because, you know, I don't have anything. I'm just starting minor mixing myself, but if you know anyone whos interested we could always start small with house parties and things.
