Only time will tell. I know how bad it sucked to be underage, and the limits that get forced on you. My advice...

When I was underage, I found out about raves by word of mouth. That is the best way.. find a friend who is willing to take you into the scene, and ....

I used to use a fake ID to get into a lot of clubs, and raves. Grow some balls, and borrow a friends ID. What's the worst that can happen? I was using an ID that was from a person 5 years older than I was, and didn't look a thing like me. It worked almost every time!!! It's more effective if there is a big line..

Finally.. you only have less than a year to go. I know there is very little difference between 17/18 years, but it goes by fast. If you do manage to get into clubs, or raves, be thankful that you made it in! Blend in with the adults who act like children, but don't get out of hand. Some people don't care for underage kidz ... they attract unwanted attention to the scene.

If you find someone who is passionate about the music, they will be more than willing to introduce you, and keep you company until you feel like wandering off yourself.

For now though.. keep practicing your moves. It will give you an edge once you actually get out there.

Quick words for though: Try not to get caught up in just getting into clubs and whatnot, and going there for the wrong reasons. Try to be there for the MUSIC. Cha....

Houston is pretty far out there, and I really dont hear about anything going on. Specially since Im pretty much on the opposite side of Texas. If you do happen to find your way to a Dallas or even San Antonio rave Id be happy to hang out. I remember being 17, and it sucked a lot because of the whole age thing. Being 20 now sucks even more though, stupid drinking age. Be patient though, I didnt go to my first rave until I was 19, so just give it time. Im pretty sure most of the field raves that are thrown are on private property so there usually isnt an age limit. Try to look for those, they're a TON more fun than ANY club you'll go to. You know what's funny though? Some of my best times going out were when I had limits set upon me. It mentally boosts the experience to a whole new level. I bitched too when I was your age, but enjoy it while you can.

Very good advice, but personally, I think it's more than just the music. I love the music, but for me, it's the people! I love how friendly, and honest people are. Good ethics, and open minded. It is the one time that I can actually go anywhere, without fear of being judged, and the strangers don't feel so strange! You will not find that to the same degree at any concert, or bar...
