This member is the original thread starter. Question Question about your regional scene

How close of a community are the ravers in your region?

Do you guys always run into some of the same people? are there huge meet-ups?

Or do you even hang out with ravers you meet at events later on throughout the week?

Just curious if for you guys it is just a weekend party or a larger community brought together BY the weekend parties...and friendships furthered afterwards.

Let me know!

no.

lol.

i see the same people at events. most of us don't hang out very ofteh with eachother, unless we're dating the person, or they're in our crew. it's totally a weekend party scene. an escape, if you will. most kids out here don't get it, they're only here for the drugs. our community isn't very tight knit, either, unless there's no one to shoulder the blame. like, when a well known raver died of an overdose, there was a HUGE get together to mourn him. but if someone starts talking shit, or there's some kind of drug-related drama, people turn their backs so quickly. it's dumb.

and we don't have massive gatherings. i tried to organize a six flags meetup, but it didnt work, because that was during the floods that occured. lol.

Actually, there is a place you can go for other kinds of meetups outside the club.

In dallas there is a website you can goto and more times than not you can find things to do with the people in the area. right now our most active users are some resident DJs in the area, staff at different clubs and some friends that we see at the clubs. we are currently setting up a trip to turner falls. Normally we do a hooka night during the week and sometime we do pool night at one of the local pool halls, just depends on who starts the stuff. you can visit the forums at [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and see for your self. right now tho is kinda slow since most of us that work are in the busy time of year.

what link said sounds pretty good....

not only because of the friendship/hanging out outside of a club or an event....but people can put their input on how to further the scene as well!

exactly what we are going for. we are actually starting production and we are working on a few shows. if you visit the site you will see that there is a thread asking the users of the site what DJs they would like to see. we are gearing it towards what people here want.

Well maybe you should join TSL, i can make you an event moderator and you can post events that take place in OKC...Just a suggestion. I have no problems expanding our site to help promote parties, if we have the users, why not have the forums.

Dallas' scene is growing, wether people tell you otherwise, and actually its more of Texas in general that is getting better. south texas, mainly austin has always been throwing some good parties but its its spreading and there is no reason why we cant include OKC in the growth.
