Whats the difference?

Hey all I'm new here, and new to the scene (which means Juno probably hates me already, heh)...

I'm also very new to these types of music. What are the differences? I went to Monster Massive this October and they had different areas set up for House, Trance, D n B, Jungle, Happy Hardcore, etc... But as I moved between the area's I didn't notice a significant difference between them. Can someone break this down for me? Thanks!

Hmmm How to make it easy for you to understand it ??? Well at monster they had the main stage wich was trance, Armin , markus play more uplifting trance the type that if your rollin take you pretty much on a journey lol, infected mushroom are more psy trance - but added live instruments which in my point of view should have headlined inestead of armin, and trance is usually between 130(progressive) to 140(hard & tech ) to over 145 (psy, hardstyle) bpm's
Then you had the house stage outside which is way different then trance specially the minimal and tech side of house. it tends to be more around the area of 124-130 bpm's alot slower then trance , but just as good

Then there was i think the d&b stage wich i didnt even go to since im not a fan of d&b thats more like a mix of hip hop- reggea- and mcing at a really fast pace. not my thing but ther maybe some peaps in here who can explain it a lil better

By the way happy hardcore is more like really fast annoying trance .Sorry to bash but i cannot stand that . maybe some one whol likes it can explain it a lil better.
Hardercore is the same thing but with a darker beat and bassline and with out the annoying chipmonk vocals of hhc. I prefer hardcore/gabber 100 times over happy

I understand the differences between bpm's in the different styles now, but it sounds like I'll just need to listen to a lot more music to truly understand it all. Which is fine by me!
