before raves, i used to listen to lots of hip hop, not ghetto rap or the top-40 stuff but oldskool/underground, run dmc tops my fav's. Found out about raves. rolled like most people during the initial phase of raving. Trance was cool and still is I guess. House was alright. Never got into techno. Drum & bass definitely had the beat but was (and i consider still is) sorta on the "dark down-step" for me, but i respect it tho, especially the type in which others told me was called "jump-up".

breakbeats is my all time favorite. U guys gotta check out "future sound of breaks" party, i dont think they throw that type of party in socal, but it's usually like 4-5 rooms of breaks, from the oldskool to the nuskool. Mostly a miami thing, that party rocks every year, mostly dancers and no spectators. absolute ideal party with my type of music , b-boys and b-girls reprazent

damn RL has changed since a year ago woah and wtf LOL

my 2-cents & peace out everyone

I never listened to music until my late sophomore year of high school.

Started out with schranz, hard techno, and acid techno and I listened to that up until a few months ago. From there I began to listen to Drum & Bass and reggae. All electronic music is good though, but techno and Drum & Bass are my favorite.

How were y'all listenin' to punk in the rave when you first got into the rave scene? j/k, anyway, way back for me it started with techno/firstwave shit like jeff mills, derrick may, to njoi, radioactive goldfish, altern 8, moby (yes, moby he was just a dj then, since i'm going old skool, i'll give a shout to doc martin too.) After awhile i gotz my first turntables (vestaxes) and i really felt breakbeats (hip hop background) ...and yeah, i went through most shit, even *gasp* NRG, hardhouse, and shit, ...........and then i was saved, by the sweet, sweet bass, of mothafunkin' DRUM n BASS! PEOPLE! naw, for real though it's good to know and switch up, sometimes. I still love the fuck out of tech-house too! (big ups, to my nukka (TY TEK, denver) for giving the business on tech-house.
