But this thing is bad ass right? I mean if they can create a machine that will put the power of industry into the hands of the proletariat(sp?) then that would be the end of capitalism as we know it. Think of the potential impact of a machine like this.

Also think of how many people would lose their jobs because of this machine. we have a problem with people finding jobs as it is. there is never anything wrong with manual labor. keeps everyone from bein lazy |

However, with outsourcing already on the rise, I am sure business would LOVE to have a machine do their work if it means cheaper labor costs. Although, if everyone's jobs are cut then there isn't anyone to buy products. It's a delicate balance that we must keep intact. |

Yea that balance would tip in the side of the consumer... The aim of this project is to make the machine available for only 500 dollars. If that is the case than you would see economies change from a capital based to a barter based system. This new machine is laying the ground work for global anarchy! Which is not necessarily a bad thing. It would just mean that the elite(ie: politicians and business owners) would loose there control over the masses which they have held down with the almighty dollar. Don't get me wrong, money wont ever dissappear, but its worth will decline massively. This machine, in conjunction with something like free energy(cold fusion, or something close to it) would change the world. |
