i'm looking to upgrade my crappy mixer. but i can't decide... one of the guys i work with thinks i should get a behringer.
i was thinking more along the lines of these guys: Numark DXM09 Stanton M.303 Stanton M.304 The 303 is the cheapest but doesn't have any fx. anyway, what do you guys think of these. |

what do you want fx for
best mixers in my opinion are vestax, though if you got that kinda money there are plenty of options out there it really depends on what your style is Numarks are good budget mixers, simple, and alot of pro's use them too ![]() |

i think it might be fun to have some fx to play with at home. even though it is just for home use, i know i don't want to waste my money on complete and utter crap.

There are some useful fx, like flanger etc but particly for someone still learning the most important thing is to learn to beat match properly, not mess about with toys. Like i said before it really depends what you want to do, i use a numark mixer its small and simply which is useful for me because i do a fair amount of scratching If your mainly beatmatching id go with a vestax, the pvc-275 would be a good bet can pick them up for about £200 on ebay, also its used in alot of clubs/raves so its good to get aclimatised to the equipment you would use when your playing out. Make sure you buy vinyl decks too.... ![]() |

Out of the ones you listed the Numark one is by far the best. I've gone through 3 mixers before finally realizing that you get what you pay for though. I had an OLD numark, a Stanton RM3-s, and a Behringer DJX-700 (junk). I now use a A&H Xone:62 and nothing come close to it, but its also like $1400.

mines an OLD numark lol quite a reliable old thing and im comfortable using it, but i could do with a new mixer come to think of it i think you'l agree with me here though m8, you don't wan't some stupid mixer with lots of little buttons you'l never use. Just go for something simple and reliable, make sure you can change the crossfader as well, they often go after a while. |

let me clarify, fx=flange, echo, delay.... whistles are for training my dog.
after doing a side by side comparison of these 3, i'm am leaning toward the stanton m304. it has the same fx as the numark and is the exact same price ($350). i am liking the look and feel of the stanton more than the other, besides all that, stanton is offering a $75 rebate on the m304 right now. yes, i have 2 vinyl decks as well as 2 cd decks. |

In my opinion mixers with fx are aimed primarly at bedroom dj's, if your intrested in playing out then its good to get acustom to using pro gear. If your not and you just like to mess about in your house then fair enuff ![]() |

I love my Numark DMX-06, if you really want a 3rd channel, then yeah the DMX-09 would be good, also I do like the 09's kill switches over the 06, but I didn't want to spend the $100 extra and this is my first mixer. The only gripes about the Numark's is that if you scratch a lot the average time for the mixer to bleed is about 6 months. Like anything else (including a porsche car) if you take care of it and don't abuse it, it will last.

I have a small rane ttm 54, and it is the bomb. I got it used for like 350, and have had it for over 4 years with no problems. The cool thing is that it has an fx loop, so you can add efx. The best way to add fx to your set up is to do it externally. If your mixer has fx and something goes wrong with it the whole thing is shot, where as if you spen the loot on a good mixer and add the fx, you will end up saving more money in the long run.
I have a vintage tape echo and a kaos pad hooked to my tables, and I could spend hours fucking around with my dub records. FX are cool, but mixers with them built in can sometimes be limiting |
