raves - a study

i'm writing something called an "ethnomusicological study" for my world music class, and i'm supposed to do field research, so i decided to come here.

i just need really anything you have to say about rave culture in part or as a whole as long as its in regards to EDM and/or lifestyle, and your experiences in it. some examples would be the role rave lifestyle has in your life, your dedication to it, your opinion on music genres, and really anything else.

here are some sample questions, but feel free to say anything. thanks!

-what makes a good song? should it stand out, or should it blend seamlessly into the set?

-what binds music to the scene? what ensures that the music is of any quality?

-what different contexts do you play EDM?

-in the music, what aspects do you prefer? just beats or a voice? what about remixes of popular songs?
