Personally, I think iPODs are way awesome. Ok...what do u guys think? |

I'm thinking of getting one of those mini ipod things....
Go for it MissE, you can rip DI.FM and store it on your iPOD, then when your in your car, you can just hook it up and listen to it... -Vision |

Aaron would be your man to talk to about this. He is a total electronics nerd. I dont remember exactly what he said, but when we had talked about ipods, he didnt sound too impressed... |

Actually, i'm one of those ppl who don't like to buy something of big value if i'm not gonna be using it much. I'm just wondering if it would be worth my while to even purchase something like this. Also...I may add...what I really like about it is the capability of storing online pix to it. |

Well, I'll tell you this about Ipods, the transfer of music, is not as user friendly as I'd like it.
The Creative Labs Mp3 features a Drag and drop system (much easier) With iPods you have to do it all through itunes, unless you figure a way to hack the iPod. But anyways, you have to decide if you are going to use it a lot. If so, then its WAY worth it, I've had my iPod for over a year, and I take it everywhere with me, my car, school, skiing. If you're handy with e-bay you can find some nice deals on the 3rd Generation (what I have) or you can just go to a store and buy the newer ones. It all really depends on your budget, they have iPods ranging from 1GB up to 60GBs, and I've heard talks of waterproof iPods too. But believe me, once you start using your iPod you'll see how awesome it is, to carry around your whole music library in your pocket. There are some similar products out there, but I don't think they stack up to the iPod. I can't remember the name but I can check it out. Yeah, I'm an electronics nerd too...I used to sell this stuff ![]() |

konrad didn't point out that there are lots of third party tools for using an ipod
some allow you to easily drag n drop like how you described personally, i have itunes installed anyhow, so it's not a big deal to fire up itunes, and drag n drop into itunes on the ipod, i don't see how that's not user friendly... a lot of 3rd party tools allow you to copy music off of ipods, onto a computer, and even to mount mac formatted ipods in windows.. xplay is a very popular and capable 3rd. party tool: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] i love my ipod, i have a 3rd. generation 15gb. one, my girl has a 4gb. pink mini that has been used like once, hehe my gripe is with the battery life, i know it's been improved a lot since the 3rd. generation versions, but man, the battery life on mine sux! it's a good day when i can get 2 hours of playback...it's not a huge deal as i use it mostly going to and from work, and that takes under an hour, but if we go drive out to a desert rave or something that's far, it sux cuz the stupid thing doesn't even last for the drive out to the party... other than the crap battery life, i've been very happy with the ipod i know that there are other products out there, that are a bit cheaper, and offer other features that are nice, but i like how the ipod works, i like it's ui, i like the simplicity of it...granted, i haven't tried all 10 billion of the other mp3 players out there... they make handy portable hard drives too, i use mine to bring things to and from the office all the time... |
