help plz!!

I'm tryin to hook up my m-audio oxygen 8 to my computer. I'm running cubase with a couple plug ins. When I press a key on the oxygen 8, I can see it on the (I guess I can call it an equalizer) but hear no sounds. I've got an m-audio firewire 410 but as far as I know I'm supposed to connect the oxygen 8 directly to my computer. Can someone help me out please? Thanx!
