yer its cunt to start with bruv but once you get the hang of it its all good, you recordin or producin, if you want to produce electronic music i sujest getting reason and rewire it with cubase so you can play around with sounds on reason and structer them using cubase.

I use Cubase SX 2 and I love it. The best is if you're learning ala trial & error, you can open up the history window and go back and see what you did wrong and correct it. Beautiful program.

I'll be getting SX 3 probably next month. A little difficult to learn at first, once you get the hang of it, you've got the power at your hands. But if you don't have any soft or hard synths to play around with for making sounds, you might want to look into those since cubase's specialty is multitracking and editing, not an overall virtual studio even though it comes with a few synths. I would suggest going to your local bookstore and getting a Power or Ignite book for Cubase SX 3. If you actually paid the near $600 for SX 3, then $30 more for a decent wouldn't shouldn't be that much more. Those books are great.....I have Reason 3 Power and Ableton Live 5 Power. Very good investments for the programs you'll be working in everyday day

cubase is a bitch to use but ultimately its for finalization and mastering that and recording
i recommend fruity loops for main productions since its easy to use but very professional sounding |

i don't think cubase is necessarily for mastering..........but then again.....depending on your skills on whatever program you use....i guess a master is possible.......but steinberg's mastering suite would actually be wavelab
