Well personally i would say get an ipod. Though i know alot of people hate on ipods because their fame and popularity they are popular for a good reason I.E. i have put my old 6GB mini through hell and back and it still works. But i also have had many differnt kinds including 2 creative product (one 64 mb which only problem was space and an old 80 gig fatty zen xtra which has some nice freatures i like that ipods dont have such as song searching by letter or number input. In the end i must say out of all the products i have used (which is about 10 but only 5 i think from differnt companys) none have matched the ipod or creative zen in quality, easy of use, battery life, mobility, and accessories. Hope this helps oh and also have any luck yet with getting some girl to enjoy themselfs at a party?
Hmm just went back over your post and sall that you said you dont like ipods...well i have heard good things about the Zune other then its program it uses to place music on the zune sucks ass...but im sure you can get something else of the internet |

well i found some websites that show how to take apart some mp3 players and make them higher capacity.
such as take apart a 1gb player and turn it into a 8 gb flash player. i might do that. i actually like the all the options with the Creative labs players and the Iriver players. I am surprised that your Ipod has lasted so long everyone i know who has had an iPod cant get it to last over 9 months. i mainly listen to news and information from podcasts on my mp3 player. and whats great about the Creative Zen Nano is that i can forward and delete files so easily on it...even while driving :-) (without being distracted at all) i havent found that ease of use in anything else. my issue has been reliability and lack of functions on iPod. thanks for the tips! |

that is great that your iPod has lasted so long.
it is the exception to the rule. another problem I have with many of the mp3 players is that you have to install the specialized software (itunes, sonys Sonic, etc) i prefer a player that works without specialized software-so you only need to just use the Windows Explorer or Mac Finder or Linux directory folder to add and delete files. |

ive had both ipod and a creative zen vision W and i have never had a problem with it, creative does an amazing job with its zen series i wouldnt stray from it. if your looking for more capacity check out the regular creative zen vision its pretty mobile and it comes with 30gb same as an ipod(or 60 if you want more) also much better battery life and a magnesium casing which is extremely scratch resistant.

Ive got a RCA Lyra and it hasnt failed me once. It's not as flashy as an iPod, but it gets the job done.
Pluses include.. -No special software needs. - Plays any type of music format; no need to change into *.(anything) -Accessible HD for storage, in addition to music. Great for transferring movies/school work/anything from one computer to another. -Cheaper than an iPod. -Not an iPod. Minuses include.. -No search feature (but who needs one if you know what you're looking for?) - 2 Color display - Boring looking.. ![]() .. but the newer ones are full color I believe, and cheaper than when I bought this. ![]() In closing- More than you need, none of the flash; cheap, but user friendly and comes with unexpected benefits. P.S. Dont buy an iPod. P. S. S. iSlaves are curious individuals.. P. S. S. S. I'm just kidding all you silly iPod owners. ![]() P. S. S. S. S. Not really. ![]() |

havent tried the Zune.
i dont wanna try a product that uses that DRM stuff and whatever. but i think the price has dropped to like $150. also i wanna stay away from harddrive players those should not have a very long life. the new Sony MP3 Players will no longer need special software installation so those will be good in about 2 months that will then be released. also they look really awesome. |

I've never had any serious issue with the hard drive on mine. The only thing I've ever had to do is hold "STOP" for 5 seconds to reset the player (on extremely rare occasions) and then continue through my library within seconds. Dont worry about it, get a hard drive.

the new Sony players seem really awesome.
They finally dropped their stupid proprietary format ATRAC. |
