Ok, so I've been called a "graver". I looked it up on the most official source of information ever, urbandictionary.

I would say my appearance fits the bill of goth. I wear dark clothes, rings, chains, straps, buckles etc. I listen to industrial, metal, etc. however the hair is usually done up in spikes (no dreads or shaved head or any of that jazz).

I also own lots of dickies shirts, "outrageous" tshirts (see tshirthell) and stuff like that of that genre. 90's punk? I guess..?

Here is the catch, I dance (TERRIBLY-I fuckin suck. But I like doing it!), love the happy music, love the people, think PLUR rawks, etc. I don't have a preference of event size either so long as I don't get knifed haha

So, do I say I'm a graver, or a raver?

Anybody with me?

Why put a label on yourself? I could identify as a dancer, kandy raver, mother, girlfriend, daughter, best friend, percussionist, teacher, student... blah blah blah.... no need for labels though. I am who I am... I identify as many things, and they all make me who I am. No need for labels

Eventhough you shouldnt worry about what you are, I get why you want to know. Its intresting to know different styles of things. From what you described, yes you are a graver. A graver is a gothic raver. A cyber raver is the ravers that dress very similar but are colorful. They have pants with chains, skirts with tights and fuzzy legwarmers, boots, heavy eye make up (some guys too), cybergoggles, and hairfalls. They look like gravers but have bright colorful acessories.

Yeah, I just think the "science" behind the naming is neat. Yes, I just said neat.

We all are what we all are, and no label can or should change that. I just think it is 'neat' how certain attributes of style and culture get grouped together and named.

I guess graver sounds cool enough :P
