Tulsa, Oklahoma is full of bored DJ's.
Either they just stay at home making music, or they settle for gigs playing top 40 hits in shitty clubs. In the early 2000's Tulsa had a pretty decent scene going on. Underground parties were quite prolific. This was probably because a good majority of the downtown area was nothing but abandoned warehouses. (Unfortunately, at the time I was a good little evangelist who'd never stay out past 9:00, so I never was able to enjoy it.) However, thanks to the frequent crackdowns at that time, a scene with a lot of good potential was squashed. I spent high school in Denver, CO. It was there that I dicovered raves and electronic music. When I returned to Tulsa after graduation the Tulsa scene was, at best, very weak. There are usually only one or two small parties in the summer. So I decided, if there are no parties, then I will have my own. I looked around for DJ's in Tulsa and, lo and behold, the city was crawling with them. I'm going to start with small, but fairly frequent parties (I'm shooting for bi-weekly.) No longer will Tulsa ravers have to go out of state to get their dosage of awesomality. Tulsa Regenesis! |

congratz on taking a stand!
i usually hit the scene monthly. bi-weekly seems a little too frequent for me. get the dj hook ups, sound system hook ups, visual effects hook ups, and a spacious place to party and you have yourself a rave. and if things turn out pretty good you can pat yourself on the back for reviving the Tulsa rave scene. watch for cops and try to follow as many laws and regulations as humanly possible. |

Also, I found the perfect place. I'm going to talk to the owners about renting it for a night. |
