Is there such thing as a depressed raver?

Just wondering because i have a ex-friend who claims to be a raver now, but he's extremely emo and depressed. What are your thoughts. It doesn't make any sense to me!!!

I'm not a raver myself (working on it) but one of my exboyfriends was really into the scene. I remember him telling me once that a lot of ravers go to "cope." The group he went with all had some sort of issue, and raving was their temporary release from it. Plus, back when I was in HS about half of the kids that I knew of being ravers, openly talked about being "emo" or whatever, although they were young and dumb and probably putting on a show.

Sure dude why not, everyone has there issues. I mean some one may get depressed on the surface but deep down be a true raver. People sometimes just get distracted by lame depressing day to day life Bs.

raving/clubbing/anywhere where the walls break down = stress relief



i guess, you can sorta use the term, closet freak...but at a lower emphasis.

i guess i should rephrase my question. I understand the whole being a raver to get away. I mean, it's totally my stress reliever. It takes me to a higher ground, but this guy goes around telling every one a/b how much his life sucks and how no one has a worse life than him. Stress is stress and being depressed is being depressed... it happends, but how could you hate your life so much and tell everyone how much your life is the worst in the world when you live to party? When you live to rave? Life is fucking amazing!!! Ya, it sux balls too, but go to a rave and your in a whole new demention or something. I guess it just pisses me off cuz he had a girlfriend who was extremely christian, so he became "godly" claiming it was genuine and for himself. Then they broke up and he definitely isn't christian anymore. And now he's going out with this raver chick so now he's a "raver". I guess it could be genuine, but he's the type of person who is "different" the same way everyone else is "different". its really hard to explain... ya.

Oh wait sorry I thought you asked if there was such a thing as a depressed kandy kid. Depressed raver? You mean Jungelists? yeah they exists but all they need is a bit of plur injected back into their lives outside of raving and maybe some caffeine!

a lot of my kandi kid friends from back in the day are depressed right now.. my guess is its hard to grow up when youre poppin pills and having fun all the time. thing is youd never notice unless you asked them how life is... things like that dont really come up at raves.

now, someone who raves and just happens to be depressed... theres nothing wrong with that. but an emo kid who goes to raves, i find that disgusting

I got my PhD in 30 days at the School of Hard Knocks! and this sounds like a classic case of someone who needs attention. I'm 100% sure that everyone gets depressed at some point in their life but most people don't carry the burden on their shoulders as well as point it out in case you didn't notice.
