Lots of people are jaded in general.
Many of us go thru life it doesnt workout the way we want.
Its a nightmare for so many and people just dont feel like putting on a fake smile.
Lots of people smile only because they want to sell others something.

Im not jaded but i understand.

Maybe they attended too many raves before? I don't know. I don't really care about jaded ravers, as long as they don't ruin my mood.

musique Re: explanation for Jaded ravers?

Some studies show that when people use MDMA (XTC) for an extended period of time, their abnormal neurotoxity levels cause permanent damage to that overworked/overstimulated part of the brain. MDMA makes your brain release floods and floods of seratonin, all you have in your head and that's what causes the high of the drug. You feel the high because of the stimulation from specific seratonin and dopamine receptors in your brain. When you over use them, they can die out and just stop working.

Studies on people who have a history of cocaine use show that parts of their dopamine receptor sites are completely dead. A scan reveals that there is much less activity in those parts of the brain.

I don't know your knowledge of pharmacology, so I wrote this for anyone to understand, I hope I don't sound condescending. Anyways, damage like this can be prevented even if drug users are unwilling to stop using.

Breaks of time between MDMA, Amphetamine, and Cocaine use can help give the brain time to build up its chemicals again and return to a healthy state. Also, there's a supplement called 5-HTP, your brain needs it to create seratonin, so you pop a couple and speed up the process. There's more info online if you look for it.

Anyways, hope this was helpful.

OOOH very helpful, your not condescending at all, your just knowledgable

so what your saying is that because of the receptors being damaged, they cannot feel the normal "joy" of life without the use of MDMA or other drugs?

or are you just saying that things that used to be fun and "joyful" for them before have less of an effect on them?

thats a cool explanation...now i just need a jaded's explanation

Both sort of. I mean, there is also the idea that maybe they grow out of their kandi-kid phase and just really start to find it stupid, or something happens to a friend and they blame it on the rave scene, but I think its just chemical imbalances. You know, like on the Zoloft commercials when it shows how you used to be all bubbly and into butterflies and all of a sudden your just dragging your feet. Its a type of depression.
