I'll see you at Electric Daisy Carnival!!! We can give each other lightshows.

I had bunch oh glowsticks I took from 99cents store. They last about 1/2 hour of good light but w.e they were free!! People really did not care that I sucked. All I did was figure 8s, some body traces, and I held them in a claw like someone there showed me. People still enjoyed even with my nubness. Now I have practiced and made my orbit.

What does everyone else think?
Thank you!
what better way to get better than practice with 'em at rave?!

give people lightshows, get their feedbacks, and practice some more!

I've given my friends lightshows... They don't really complain because they know i'm still a noob to it all, so they just tell me some things I need to work on. No big deal.
=)

on a side note... how long do the glowsticks from walmart usually last?

If people are rolling hard enough it's not hard to impress them. Just start with that as a moral booster.

Unless you get the super high intesity ones that last like 30 mins, or the uber super duper ultra high intensity ones that last 5 minutes.

minimal Re: Carrying glowsticks if you suck at lightshows?

The best advice I can give someone whos never done lightshows before and wants to....

You dont have to know any moves at all. Figure 8, meh, overdone to the max. Traces.. meh like everything else they get old if you two it for more than like 5 secs, heh.

The bes thing you can do is try to move with the music. WHen you start the show start with a figure 8 and start trying to feel the beet, be in the same point in youre figure 8 at the same time a certain part of the beat hits. When the beat changes move into something else, spiral them around eachother, wave them back and forth in front of eachother, changing witch one is in front on each pass, hold one stil land spin the other around it, then stop the one youre spinning and spin the other around it, reverse direction to the beat.

Just like in dancing the dj buildts up, cresendios, pauses. When the DJ slows shit down, start slowing youre shit down. Something cool that ppl always love, move a fast giration (whatever you like doing) and on every bass beat (with good timing) bring them both straight down to their face, close as you can withought hitting them, almost like you are the one playing the bass hit, and their face is the drum.

When it comes down to it, the most advanced technique if done to much, is just boreing and repetative.

Even its basic/mundane/easy, if someone has never seen it before they will trip for sure.

On a side note, going extreamly extreamly fast (unless its realy dark, you have REALY bright lights, and they are trippin balls) is almost hard to get youre trip going.

I could probably keep going, but ill stop here.... If you ever want to have a long fucking conversation ask me about it at a rave, lol.

Out of everything else I do at a rave, bringing people to an entirely new level with the mear motions of my hands is what gives me the most pleasure.

I personally like having them in my hands too. They are always fun to dance with whether you are good or not. just dont bring a whistle... attention all whistle blowers!!! leave your whistles at home! we came to see a dj.. not you whistle to the beat all night!
