I'm from Seattle and just moved to Houston. I've had a real hard time finding partys down here. I seen an ad on goovetickets for DJ Irene @ Rick's last night, I luv Irene. 2 friends and I got there at 11pm. Rich's let us in and took our money. 15 mins later they kicked us out because one of my friends cloths were too baggy. The ad for DJ Irene said nothing of a dress code. R partys different in Houston? In seattle Hard House shows r filled with candy kids, some wearing very baggy pants. THEY TOOK OUR MONEY FIRST THEN KICK US OUT FOR DRESS CODE. What, they couldn't see what he was wearing at the door. They would not give us a refund. The venue was small, only one room. The drinks were expensive ($18) and they straight stole $30 from me at the door. Tonight DJ Dan and Donald Gluade r playing. I want to go but what do I wear. I know I cant dress like a raver.

welcome to texas. LOL.
that sucks about kicking out your friend. but here we have stupid unspoken rules, and no one allows lightshows or poi in their clubs. your best bet is afterlife (dallas) but i def. would reccomend sticking around here and learning when the good events are. ![]() |

Sorry you had a wack experience at Rich's. Rich's will let you come in tshirts and sneaks the special nights they have Djs, but they won't want you to go full raver or bring raver toys like lights and things. I have seen some people bust out with them, but for the most part, Rich's is going to operate like most clubs do.
Rich's has GREAT sound and is a really nice place to go at times. You need to come on a different night. I went there for Ferry Corsten and had a good time. You might want to check out parties thrown by SDC at the Silo. They have a very ravey feel to them. Here is a flyer to a past event !! ![]() ![]() SDC tends to throw these once or twice every month. You gotta see it to believe it!! It's good times. |

The last silo got shut down by the cops because of some fucking dumbass running around naked, the cops tried to get him to put his clothes on and he wouldnt so they arrested him
everything is pretty much permitted at the silo, but there are sometimes cops there to keep peace (keep fights from breaking out and shit), but its all ages, and you can smoke the silo is a place like no other i was at a party at the Canal St. Warehouse a couple weekends ago and talked to a couple guys in SDC and they said they didnt know when they could have the next silo because of that ordeal Richs can be ok on some nights. I saw DJ Keoki there and they had dancers in rave clothing, they even encouraged it. If it is a trance act or something like that then riches generally allows glowsticks, but i dont think they really do on their house and hip hop nights. But its still a club, and not a rave, and even though its a really nice place, the atmosphere is not the same. |
