Sad news

SUNBURNFEST aka LOVEFEST - FREE BEACH PARTY

***** POSTPONED ******* POSTPONED ******* POSTPONED ******

BAD NEWS - The free beach festival will be POSTPONED!! We are not able to get the permits in time for next weekend. We anticipate that we will be able to have the festival in a month's time.

We were told that no permits were needed to hold the festival at Surfside which is why we chose that location. When all the hotels and beach houses were rented, the Parks Dept anticipated the attendance to be significant and then required us to get a mass gathering permit, which will take more time.

GOOD NEWS - The "man" is working with us and will allow the festival to take place, provided we obtain the permits and meet all the requirements.

We have attempted to ignore "the man" previously with undesirable results. Some of you will remember the festival where "the man" came well equipped including helicopters with night vision, every law enforcement agency they could round up, and a temporary station set up across from the beach access road. We are hoping to avoid this scenario and work with the officials so that this festival can happen yearly or bi-yearly with their "blessings" instead of their "arsenal".

WE DO WANT TO GATHER on October 13th TO CLEAN ANOTHER AREA OF THE BEACH to show "the man" that we are serious about our intent to clean the beach. We hope this will help the festival's reputation as well. WE NEED 300 VOLUNTEERS ON OCT 13TH to clean the beach and help us show Surfside and Galveston officials that we are serious about cleaning the beach!

PLEASE LET SDC Productions KNOW IF YOU CAN VOLUNTEER!!!

Our apologies to everyone for the inconvenience - we know everyone is excited and has already made exciting plans! We are equally bummed but know that it work out for the better.

Well good luck on getting the permits, I hope Ill be able to attend it when it actually goes down. Next weekend was kinda my only chance to do an event like this. Bah.

Yeah, this does suck in a way... If it gets postponed for a month, it will be too cold to play in the water! May feel kind of good while dancing though..

And damn that shit about cops with nightvision, and helicopters sounds like a freaking nightmare!

Oh well, suck it up. Plenty of parties going on in the next month or so to keep ya busy!

Meltdown I can make it too, but Shiva shakti I think is having an event that night, so mos def some shiva for mah soul, but if that doesn't happen...maybe Meltdown...beat up some ravers

Permits take bout up to 45 days to get, so this is most likey going to happen mid to late November, which means coldness...tid bit nippy mutha fuckas.
