Word. Since when is house techno? I love it when people say PVD is their favorite techno DJ . Try listening to Laurent Garnier and see if there is any resemblence. The big problem today is people enjoy the scene more than the music. They just enjoy getting high to trance and have no clue about Kraftwerk/ Model 500/ Cybotron, etc...

hi guys.. Only just registered there 10mins ago this is my first post..

I am a big techno head myself, although i do listen to some rock music such as the libertines and led zeppelin. Some of my favourite djs range from joey beltram, dave clarke, pedro delgardo, ben sims, the advent and umek.

But the thing is all of my mates...they dont like techno. they listen to loud hard fast punk. But there is a catch which i cant understand.They take drugs....and love techno, but sober they couldnt stand the thought of even listening to the first 5 seconds of a song. Im not saying i dont indulge in the odd pill or 5, but i just dont understand.... I would like to think that i have quite a vast taste in music...but its almost like they just dont want to admit they like the music...

I think there are very very few real techno heads out there that dont make their own music, however much they would love to. And the rest are simply on drugs.

I was w/this girl for almost 10 years and althoguh earlier on in the relationship, we went to the Detroit raves, she fell out of favor of techno and in most electronic music in general. The only fixes that I could get for a while were at the local Goth/industrial club that would play some stuff, resembling techno.

That chapter in my life is over and now techno runs deeply in my veins and no woman will ever change that. Not until I got back into the music again, did I realize how much I missed out in those years.

But - Punk and Industrial share some things, as does Industrial and Techno. Maybe think about sharing those common factors. Ministry and Thrill Kill, and NIN for some of the harder stuff and the Specials for the Ska-Punk-Dubby vibe.
