How did this event turn out? I had to work

Turned out alright..

The light show caused peoples jaws to drop upon entering the room.. which is always a good thing.

Everyone I talked to had a great time. However, the Venue really screwed us over. I know they stole a lot of the people that had come for our party, and suckered them into going to theirs downstairs...

Next one will be better. I'm thinking outdoor, mid-July.

Clarification:

It has been brought to my attention that my prior post reads as though I am hating on Barfly. That's in fact not the case. I have worked there in the past, and since the party on regular club nights, and have been treated very well by the staff, management, and owners.

Since my previous post (just a day or so ago in fact) I discovered that the venue and its management were not responsible for "stealing" any of our people. Which, didn't make any sense to me anyway, as they would have gotten the same revenue from drinks sold upstairs or down. It was a misunderstanding, and I apologize if my comment has led anyone to believe I have a problem with Barfly. I am coming to understand that I am quite often misunderstood as well, in my actions and/or words (spoken or written).

To err is human, mistakes foster growth and learning. We've all been wrong before, and will certainly be wrong again. Life is far too short to let misunderstandings and petty differences come between us. I have always been a fairly blunt person. Sometimes my directness is taken wrong, and it's unfortunate, but inevitable I suppose.

For the record, I feel no bad blood between myself and Barfly, its owners, or management. Quite the opposite. While it would have been great for a larger turn out; and I do feel that in the confusion at the door some of the people who had intended on coming to our party ended up downstairs, I am thankful that they allowed us the use of the room, and look forward to working with them again in the future -- whatever the situation is, be it a regular club night, or a special event.
