First and foremost to the Lord Jesus Christ for his sacrifice he willingly paid for our sins, over 2000 years ago. May his spirit live on and may we never forget the original herald of PEACE, LOVE, UNITY & RESPECT. GAD would like to extend our blessings to all of the artist & agencies united under the Global Alliance who make these events possible year after year. Our 6th Annual WMC gathering is a tribute to several intricate pioneers of the global electronic dance music culture who have persevered to see its roots preserved amid the inevitable expansion of our culture into mainstream markets. Contrary to what many of us were taught, Expansion is not the enemy in regeneration or revolution, it is in fact its very purpose. The power that lies within these movements is not ours to conceal and certainly not ours to manipulate. It is our very duty to share these truths, once we have been blessed with these truths. The real enemy is the disregard for the sacrifices and motives of our predecessors who laid the foundation we currently stand on, in doing so compromising the future which they faithfully pioneered to secure. A special blessing goes out to some of the P.L.U.R pioneers of our unique culture: Bill Kelly and the entire staff at WMC, Frankie Bones of East Music, Kevens of Celestial Recordings, Rafi Levin and his staff at Anarchy Productions and Club Rain who opened their doors to our gathering. New York's Frankie Bones not yet old enough to cross the street finds his way through the abandoned freight tracks at the end of his block to a flea market. It was there that this young boy became addicted to something that was later admired upon. "I'm a vinyl junky; I've been buying records every weekend since 1973. It didn't take me long to figure out that records were made for people who DJ and I love to turn people on to music". Soon the graffiti writer turned producer was propelled into the limelight and was receiving huge success via his partnership with Tommy Musto (Musto & Bones). With releases such as "Dangerous on the Dancefloor" and the album "The Future is Ours" the house phenomenon was born. He soon began solo projects releasing an innovative series of 12"s on his Breakin' Bones imprint. At 5.30am on August 26th, 1989 Frankie Bones walked on stage in front of 25,000 people. The event was called "Energy", and was to go down in history. The Prodigy's Liam Howlett speaks of this time: "I was into Frankie Bones, he would really rip it up. I'd go out and get inspiration listening to him, come home and write music". Fuelled by this experience Frankie took it upon himself to start a scene in his native Brooklyn. The legendary "Bones Breaks" series and "Lonny Tunes" EPs on NU Groove started to come out. He started throwing small parties called "Stormrave". These parties exploded, going from just a handful of people to 5,000 people in a warehouse on September 19th, 1992. These parties gave many of today’s most revered DJs/producers their first taste: Sven Vath, Adam "X", Josh Wink, Richie Hawtin, Joey Beltram to name just a few. Frankie opened up the first specialist record store in New York; Groove Records in Brooklyn. Driven by his love for the underground he pioneered the East Coast scene.
