As we look forward to september and the return of students to school, we here at the Dubwize Collective thought we should dust off those textbooks on low end theory that were kickin around and just get back to bassic for our next show. We've assembled a crack faculty of dubstep professors that will help familiarize yourself with these bassics and rock your asses on the floor.

Bombaman aka Matt Carl aka one half of the dubstep duo Loetech with XI from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

As Kid Kameleon put it in his column "Basic Needs" in the December 2007 issue of XLR8R, he makes dark, weird, boundry pushing music for you to meditate to in a club with large speakers.

These days he is working on making sure his beats live up to that expectation. Always looking for a new way to mangle subbass, you can find him pushing out new music every week in the form of 4/4, electro tinged dubstep.

With forthcoming releases on LA Dubstep Nostra, Lo Dubs and Badman Press, and releases already available on Lo Dubs, Aufect Recordings and Dubplatelet you can be sure there is a Bombaman sound suited to you.

Working with XI for the past two years producing music and performing on their radio show STREAMIZM!, he has traveled up and down Ontario and Quebec and will be venturing all across North America in search of the perfect sound system to play his music on.

You can hear Crookers, Rusko, Diplo, 12th Planet, DZ, Starkey, Stenchman, the Trouble & Bass crew and many other topshelf DJ's playing his music these days, so keep an ear to ground, he might be in your city next.

Mark Harmsworth has been honing his dj’ing skills for over 7 years now and has accomplished much since stepping up and playing live in the last 3 years. A co-founder of Halifax collective ‘Break Beat Elite’ and ‘Halifield’ . Harmsworth is known for his ability to please a crowd, be it with jungle, breaks, glitch hop , electro, house ,dub step or a combination of all six.

Mark has played all over the East Coast, opening for Big League Chu, Myagi, Mistress Barbera, RCola and the UK’s J-Bass and Lee Coombs as well many local favorites.

With a Monthly residencies offering Halifax and Mocton the only regular drum and bass/breaks party, as well as organizing steady BBE and Halifield collective shows and the dedication and skill to win the Reflections DJ Idol, Mark Harmsworth has got to be one of the hardest working DJs in Halifax. A hero to those who love their beats broken, Harmsworth will rinse out the roughest and the toughest of riddims in style.
