I disagree. Emotions are involuntary responses. Choosing to wallow in one is a choice for sure, but they happen regardless of your intentions.

I agree that sometimes it's just a difference of personal taste, but sometimes music is produced by severly untalented and inexperienced people, and without paying any attention to phrasing, key, mode, etc.

Actually, if you are in a situation (like work) where you are done with your daily activities, and unable to pursue your other interests via your inability to leave or deviate from work behavior and activities, then I would accept being bored as something you have no control over. At least at that juncture.

Emotions can be trained. Any successful advertising firm or psychologist/psychiatrist/anthropologist/sociologist/politician knows this to be true because being one of these things is largely based on the assumption that emotions can be trained. If you are unable to train them, not my bad.

No, a response to an emotion can be trained, but the emotion itself happens prior to your abiility to contain and manipulate it. You feel a certain way, and then you react to it....thats why it is an emotion, it happens before reason.

They appreciate their artwork because they are created by a person they care about, and are a sign of their affection usually made specifically for them. There is absolutely no corolation between music made by a faceless entity in a studio, and artwork created by your offspring.
