They think that by treating their children as if they were a dog is a way to keep them out of trouble and under control. It is also out of pure laziness, they don't want to have to bother holding they hand, and I know this from experience, heres the quik story.
This happened at the mall while I was waiting for my coffee. Once a kid was struggling to get out of these sick things and his mom spanked him. I went over to ask (polietly)(sp) how come she couldn't just let him walk beside her and hold his hand. She replied, angrily, "This is none of your buisiness kid! But if you must know its becuase this is easier then holding his hand."
And there people go proving my point, people suck. Even I suck, we all suck at times. Some more than others.

DUDE, THAT IS A HORRIBLE STORY. However, I still don't disagree with the reason parents use leashes.
My question to you is... DO YOU EVEN HAVE A KID?
If so then you'll understand.
If not, I understand why you don't.
NOT ALL PARENTS ARE SICK NOW DAYS.
Like I said before, I have never put a leash on my kid, and I never will, but like at a crazy busy place like Disney land or New York City or something, I think that some parents really do it because they truly fear the thought of loosing their children.
