haha
yeah, i work at Great America and I see that shit all the time.
I hella laugh.

And then part of me dies a little, that parenting is getting so shitty, that they need to resort to the same methods of control as animals.

sigh.

Have any of you ever taken care of a two year old in a public place for any extended period of time? Just curious because somehow my experiences with this seem to make it understandable. Don't get me wrong, it's weird but, they are small and fast enough to slip away in 20 seconds or less. If I were any less of an attentive person, I'd put em on a leash too! I just wouldn't want to loose the damn critter! Shit!

But, those baby leashes are remarkably similar to the humane dog harnesses you see these days..

Idiotbox "PaPa" once again I agree with you. I am a parent, as you all know, and though I have never put Justus on a leash, it's not wrong for people to do it. Sure it looks weird, and or kinda fu*cked up but in all reality, the way the world is now days, with all of the kidnapping, and child molesters, it is out of control, and a parents worse fear is loosing their child. And yeah kids are hyper and they are fast and they don't understand things clearly at that age. My daughter is almost five, and I have issues with letting her go to my own mother's house for more then a day. In public, her hand never leaves mine or Dustin's. I haven't had to use the leash, but I COMPLETELY understand why people do.

Default 'Cus they suck.

You want the answer? Becuase parents these days are sick. They think that because kids are younger they cannot think for themselves and will just run off into traffic. They think they need to control their children completely to "protect" them. I know we are talking about 4 and 5 year old kids but still. They think that by treating their children as if they were a dog is a way to keep them out of trouble and under control. It is also out of pure laziness, they don't want to have to bother holding they hand, and I know this from experience, heres the quik story.

This happened at the mall while I was waiting for my coffee. Once a kid was struggling to get out of these sick things and his mom spanked him. I went over to ask (polietly)(sp) how come she couldn't just let him walk beside her and hold his hand. She replied, angrily, "This is none of your buisiness kid! But if you must know its becuase this is easier then holding his hand."

And there people go proving my point, people suck. Even I suck, we all suck at times. Some more than others.

Hand holding is great and all, but not all kids go for that, i sure as hell know i didnt when i was like 3, impossible to keep me in one place. its easy to condemn if you have an already calm child but if ur kid is off the walls then ur in a different situation.
