And why do most of the girls on this board insist on wearing underwear to raves?
Just wondering. |

Thread fully backed. As an ex-candy kid, I wonder myself. I haven't seen a real candy kid in more than five years.

i, of course, wear adequate clothing over my underwear. so girls shouldn't wear underwear. got it. i'll stop wearing underwear and support the scene! I dont make kandi but i'm oh so tempted to make one for Kiss that says "twincest" i'll make it out of paperclips, sugar cubes, macaroni noodles and duct tape. |

Actually I prefer you wear underwear under your pants.
Just at least wear some fucking parachutes for once people!!! How many people here actually own a pair of parachute pants? |

That would be so awesome to see people dressed like that. It would probably make a few people's year.

Danny I'm sure you'll meet many of them at Candyball. I've been to two raves in NYC and they're full of 18 to 22-year-old guys wearing UFOs and dayglo colors and kandi up to their elbows. No p-tots either
![]() Check out the image gallery on raversonly.com if you don't believe me. PS: Scooby would be offended at the idea that there are no more candykids in the bay area Last edited by grievre; 5.8.2008 at 7:54 am.. Reason: automerged doublepost |

Honestly, I feel like I have no room to talk, because I'm fairly new to the rave scene (only since last October, really.) But I feel like even since then, the idea of kandy has gotten kind of misconstrued. When I went to Monster, I saw people wearing it and thought it was awesome and creative. Now, I feel like it's a contest to see who has the most and can get the most at every rave. Personally, I make it because it's relaxing, and I like giving it out. I quite enjoy the idea that my little pieces of love are being sent out into the community as an extension of my plur. That's why I make kandy. Lately, though, I give far more handouts than trades. Which is okay, I suppose, but I feel like it's losing the meaning. People just like to have it because it's "ravery and cool".
As for the underwear, this is one of my biggest pet peeves. I personally spend quite a bit of time on my outfits for raves. I usually hand sew/alter things so they become uniquely mine, and I've never worn the same thing twice. I feel like raves are a chance to break away from everything we all have to deal with in everyday life, and really express ourselves the way we choose, without anyone caring or judging. It's my opinion that it reflects on the personality of girls who only wear lingerie. Uninspiring outfit, uninspiring girl. |

yeah it would be nice to see some real kani kids, but like the uy before me, i have absolutly no room to talk. i just think the idea of kandi kids is great. i would give them the biggest hug of there life!!!
and as for outfits, i also agree, i would try and sow and alter my clothes if i could lol. sadly i have next to no clothes... its pretty bad. i mean. i litterally only have a weeks worth of clothing. i wear the same thing every week... i'm lame! ![]() |

so you have to wear a visor and/or parachute pants to be a "real" kandi kid?
