What do you think of 1015 , Ruby Skye, etc.?

For those of you old enough to get into these clubs or crafty enough to sneak in, what do you think of the club scene where electronic music is played?

While I like the music played at these places, the vibe has a lot to be desired: VIP b.s., security with attitude, expensive drinks, folks who don't dress up in rave attire, and not much PLUR in the house.

In your opinion, what's the best club for electronic music purists and rave culture enthusiasts? Instead of the club scene, I'm more down with outdoor events like the SF Lovefest. Unfortunately I can't form an opinion about the renegade parties because I haven't been to any (although I'm working on changing that).

By the way, I'm new to ravelinks (but I've been listening in for a bit) so hello to y'all. Hopefully I'll go to the renegade party this Friday and I'll see some of you beautiful people there.

Well i have a bit to say about this.

I have gone to ruby skye many time and 1015 once. Now this is not a "Raver" scene . Its a club, plain and simple. The bouncers are there, the drinks are a rip off, and quite often you get people there that are just hanging out crowding the dance floor.
I love to rave however, sometimes i want a different atmosphere. I like to get dressed nice, put make-up on and go out for a few drinks while still being able to listen to my favorite type of music.

Ruby skye has had some pretty great dj's. Just recently there was Ferry Corston, Crystal Method . Upcomig is Carl Cox.
I guess it really just depends on your preferences and your mood.
1015 is not my cup of tea. Even though its a big spot and they often have great music, i feel as if im in an asian club. The crowd is primerily asian. I just feel a little out of place thats all.

I guess if you really wanna know you should check it out and make a choice based on your own vibe. GOOD LUCK!!

In my opinion I only enjoy going to these clubs when there is a DJ worth my drive, cover charge, and like it has been mentioned expensive drinks. when DONALD GLAUDE is there, I make that special trip. However, with the "strict dress codes" at Ruby Skye it sometimes so hard to dance and really feel it, that i get aggravated. 1015 with the wear what cha wanna wear dress code is pretty cool, but like I said gimme a great headliner!

The dress code can be strict. However, every Friday night is a party called "remedy" inside ruby skye. On fridays the dress code is way chill. My man wears a polo, jeans, and some lugs i wear jeans and cloggs or platforms(casual). There are tons of people in tennys. Not like saturday nights at all where you have to wear dress clothes and dress shoes.
You should check it out!!! And hey you can always be ghetto like me and down a bottle in the parking lot or in the car before you go in!!
