I had a pretty damn good day. If you want to, take the time to read this narrative of it. I uploaded some of the pictures on plurspace, so friend me on there and check them out. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
I really wish you people could see these photos full sized. or see this stuff in person. So I woke up at 9 am, had a yummy breakfast, and went to my swimming class. My original plan after swimming was to bike to Fillmore to by a pair of pants and head straight home...but the moment I stepped out of swimming and saw the weather....I knew my plans were changed. I ran back to my dorm, got my camera, suited up my backpack, made a peanut butter and apricot jelly sandwich(on a sesame bagel), grabbed some chocolates my little cute Asian friend gave me, and headed out. First destination, Twin Peaks. Blood already pumping from swimming and the sun beating down on my face, I started the lovely ascent up the hills of San Francisco. The closer I got, the prettier everything became. If you don’t know the twin peeks area, think of a city slowly turning into a scenic drive or an urban hiking spot. The last mile before I hit the top road, I pretty much stopped every 20 feet just to get a photo from a different view. At the top of the upper peak, there is yet another hill that you can walk up. From this, you have a 360 degree view of San Francisco, East bay, and even Marin County. Might I add that it was sunny, blue skies, and a good breeze. A little more hazy than I would’ve liked, but whatever. In a span of 10 minutes I took 60 pictures, both high quality resolution, normal aspect ratio and wide-screen. I did several rotations too, taking a picture every 10 degrees that I rotated to the right. Did that in wide-screen twice and the other aspect once. All of a sudden, I saw an eagle....floating a mere 20 feet from the edge of this hill. Because it was so windy, the bird wasn’t even flapping its wings, but just hovering peacefully. Got a couple pictures of that, pictures of it flying, and a video of it hovering+flying. After sending a ton of texts to friends about this lovely day, I sat down on the steps, put on my warm sweater, and ate half my chocolates and the bagel. I decided not to go to the Fillmore at all and ventured downtown. I went to crossroads and found white pants I can spray paint(plus they’ve got a perfect pocket for cell phone)a shirt for How Sweet It Is. Really good EDM was playing the whole time while I shopped, by the way. After that...I discovered the store known as “Flax.” People from the city might know this store, but if you have never heard of it...it’s amazing,. Think Pearl, Michael’s, Joanne’s, Beverly’s, a really good stationary store, frame store, and studio store all wrapped into one. The best part....it was huge yet not impersonal. I hate how bland and dull other crafts stores feel. This even had an area for children’s arts and crafts that was lager than most other stores. Aaaaaaand they had a table where you could draw, make crafts, and water paint!!! So...I decided to hell with frisbee practice, I’m doing some art. For a good 45 minutes I am in there messing around with the paint and having a good time. After I made a lovely sunset/beach picture, I cleaned all my stuff up, gave the painting to the store, and said thank you. Eat the rest of my chocolates, and force myself to bike the hill back to school. I get back to campus, and yay! A package from my best friend(Masquerade) arrives. And It is once of the best birthday presents I have ever gotten. A blue build-a-bear with glasses and a top hat. Now why is this the best present ever? Because after my first rave with Masquerade, Together As One, and staying awake for forty more hours....I started hallucinating when I finally got into bed at 2 am Monday morning. There were plenty of hallucinations, but the weirdest one was a Giant, blue teddy bear with a top hat that kept coming closer and closer to me. Later the next day we concluded that I hallucinated that because A) I had called Masquerade my “Chocolate Teddybear” the entire night, he was wearing a top hat at Together As One, and at 5 am in downtown LA walking just us two I had the most INSANE AND UNREASONABLE craving for a blue slurpee. Just that craving and out adventure that morning could be another story. So pretty much I open the box, see it’s a build-a-bear and get really really happy. Then I open it and see that it’s a Blue teddy bear with a top hat. I literally started jumping up and down smiling and laughing in my room with joy and couldn’t stop smiling. I called him up and pretty much blabbered how much I love it and giggled some more. I think I was crying a little too. I might name him “Crave,” but I’ve got some others on my mind. Hehe. Now I’m hungry. I go to eat dinner(roast beef, Chinese chicken salad, Waldorf salad, roasted pepper stuffed with rice and tomatoes, ridge fries, brownie, 2 cookies, pumpkin cake, and peach ice cream<----see i dooo eat a ton!) and when I come outside I notice it is nearing sunset. Lucky me...My college is 1-2 miles from the beach. Let’s hop on my bike again. As I’m waiting for the sun to hit that perfect spot I collect some rocks and sand dollars. I guess the tide was really high earlier...cause damn there were a lot. I watched the sun set while sitting in that little hut on my last night in SF for 9 days. I did this all by myself, no drugs, not even with friends, but I don’t really mind. I spend plenttyyyyy of time with friends on the weekend, will be going up to tons of new people at How Sweet It Is, will be smoking quite a great amount of herb next week, and part of me likes being alone sometimes. Because in a sense I am not alone. I’m experiencing this nature and loveliness and creativity and exploring with the world itself. I can appreciate it a lot more...because it will be all I focus on if I’m not with friends. A girlfriend would be nice to share this with...but sometimes in a relationship you end up holding each other back. Plus I’m kinda crazy....it would be hard for someone to keep up with my random wackiness. But if anyone has a friend that could keep up with me....INTRODUCE US!!! :-) And as an added bonus I see myself doing this for all of you people out there. I know I’m lucky and have this sort of time/capability. Not everyone has one class on Thursday or lives in a great city. And sure as hell a lot of people don’t live 2 miles from the beach. For the ones who spent their day inside of an office or work for too many hours and were bored as hell, I experience this for you. I do it in your name and so that I can share it with you. Time to shower, make some kandi, pack my bags, meet up with friends, and then pass the fuck out. I love you all! P.L.U.R.R. out! P.S. if anyone wants better quality, higher resolution photos, let me know and I can email them. I took around 200 today and only posted I think 20. |

Now I understand that text you sent. Glad you had such a great day. I feel like a lot of SFSU students that live on/near campus get stuck here with nothing to do. Lucky you, you got a chance to break out for a day!

This story, the one by Klover, shows us how beautiful nature can be... Amazing how a nature trek will change our emotions, for the better.
That is what a weekend should entail. Healthly Recreation. Any who, this has been good and I must go *Manolo walks out the room* Last edited by Manolo; 23.3.2008 at 9:47 am. Reason: automerged doublepost |
