Let's just start by saying that I JUST made it home now.
So...getting to the rave was the most difficult part and I know EVERYONE can agree with me on that. But besides that.... Through The Looking Glass was by far one of the best undergrounds that I have been to, regardless of it shutting down early or not (which YES was a bummer). But running into the usual ravers, to meeting completly someone new was AMAZING last night. I ended up mostly staying in the HARDCORE ROOM most of the night where the music was getting better and better by the second. I also loved how the waters were $1 too btw. I really liked the decorations of the place, from the art to lights to the playing of Alice In Wonderland which I got WAY into last night. Haha. BUT, I'm glad the ballpitt still managed to fit! But just the vibes and overlooking at everyone enjoying themselves was SUCH a good feeling. At that moment it just reminded me of why I do this in the first place. But after it closed down, the scrambling of finding out where the "afterparty" is never gets old. The "EPIC" raver car trains. Hahaha. But after some slight confusion, went to a house party where there were AMAZING light shows every 5 seconds. But then ending it on the beach attepting to watching the SUNRISE (DAMN CLOUDS). I just can't wait till I do it ALL over again. **People who gave me Kandi, expect even greater in return** SOME SHOUT OUTS THAT I HAVE... MANDI!!! (Tri-Atom)-Thank you for throwing this amazing party. For what it was, this party made me refresh in my mind why I still do this. KYLE-You were the "Warrior King" of directions last night! ROBERT-I just loooooove you!! Your lunchbox and all. MAC, DARKENER, and KISS-You have such AMAZING lightshows. DISCO-You always know how to make me laugh. DOT.-You were so cute when you were tripping on cans every 2 seconds. 800m-I just love partying with you, especially when you have your 3D glasses. POCKETS-Thank you for giving my friend a ride and taking care of her!! That really meant a lot. GIMP DA PIMP-You had the BEEEEEST costume last night hands down!! SAUNDRA-Can't wait to take our GRAND TOUR of San Francisco. DRIFTER-Glad your feeling better! KLOVER-You knew how to keep the vibe going! SNEETCH-I LOVE YOU!! ::hugs:: Love watching you dance. SIPPY-Your outfit was TOO cute last night. Your soooo nice and fun! MOMMA SHORTY-I'm so glad that I FINALLY met you. MUFFINTOP-Thank you for the pics! Can't wait to see them! Your such a cool guy!! aaaaaand also to seeing SLEEK, FRENCHIE, MIMICK, R4PH, MYSTERY, TURTLE, LIQUIDRAVER, EARS, CHESHIRE (and I KNOW theres more, but my memory is a little screwed) thank you so much for sharing the great experience with me. So if you met me... AIM, YAHOO, Myspace, Plurspace, or PM ME!! The least thing that I did HATE though were the "punkers" right when we walked in. AKWAAAAAAARD. o0o0oo. AND... Saying shhhhh when told to be quiet just creates MORE noise. Think about it. ![]() Last edited by PhoenixXx_X; 6.4.2008 at 12:16 pm.. Reason: Woopsie. |

hahaha god when everyone was ssshhhing i was hella stoned and trippin out like where the fuck is the deflating hot air balloon...
and phoenix i'm glad i finally met you too! for half a second that car train was EPICif you didn't know ...I was the leader.... and it was funny because everyone thought I was in charge of the afterparty, it became like my afterparty lol....then when we showed up to the park and no one was there and everyone asked "where's the after party" and i'm like "we are the after party" haha....you guys left...we had a freakin blast! we played tag n shit, and all the frying kids built a miniature city out of random shit from people's bags. we were there till 5am....it was awesome. but man...that was hilarious, what started out as one person following my car turned into like a 6 car freakin car train! and i was fucking leading it, i look back all of a sudden and i got like 5 cars full of ravers behind me....i wasn't navigating btw, just a mindless driver. and yeah those punker kids were weird...funny cuz i knew one of them from like highschool randomly ....and there were a few too many PUSH SHOVEY drunk people but for the most part it was rad....just wish the capacity was cut in half lol...i could barely move! oh and mandi, i totally stole one of your balls sorry |

We didnt get to go. ]:
So at about 6, my friends were coming over to my place to get ready to go. We called up our ride, and because some drama shit we couldnt go with them anymore. We had 2 extra tickets and we needed to get a ride up there so we started calling everyone in our phonebooks and NOBODY wanted to go to the rave, except for like one person. We went outside of mcdonalds to wait for him to pick us up but something came up and he had to flake out too. Then some guy leaving his shift at mcdonalds said he was going to a party, and me and my friends were like "would you want to go to a rave instead??" And he was like...wait hold up. lol, so he starts calling hella people in his phone and in the end just offers us a ride up there. This guy didnt even know us and he was willing to drive us to oakland!! But we heard that the map point was going to close at 10 and it was already 9:30 and we were still in san jose. We decided to go back to our friends house and pop there and dance the rest of the night away in his room. ahaha. [: But we lost a shitload of money and we didnt even get to go there. |

I'm glad at least some of you had fun, but without the drugs I think the party was a bust. Way too packed, waaaaaay too hot, the music kept turning off and on (you can't play a decent set when it's so staggered), there were so many incredibly rude kids running around, and soooo many people were just way too intoxicated. A lot of people were just rolling really hard and didn't care about anyone, stumbling around and pushing people over.
The ball-pit, while a very nice idea, was just an absolute mess. Kids were putting the plastic balls in their mouths and chewing on them, throwing them at other people, etc. There were also no fans (at least that I could find), and it compounded the problem of being WAAAAAAAAY overcapacity. The crowd was really bad too, when I first got there I was so excited because I saw all these really cute raver-kids all over-the-place, but even they were acting incredibly rude. They'd shove people out of the way, stop in the middle of traffic to speak with someone for five minutes, and then I saw some of them laughing about it as they plowed through people or knocked people over. Plus, there were a lot of hyphy kids there, one guy pretty much went up on this girl and started dry humping her right in front of whomever she was with at the time and then tried to fight the other guy for trying to get him off. There was practically no room to dance (though I'm used to this at the crack house), but what made it worse was that even when I tried to, I burned out really fast because it was so hot and moist inside, and people would constantly bump into me and shove me into someone else when I was off balance. Don't take this assessment as a disparagement of Tri-Atom. Considering the situation, they tried the best they could to accommodate the ravers and give all these kids a place to party, but I don't think this was the route they should've gone. They canceled/bought out a hard-core show (yes, these guys were jerks, but I'd be pissed too if I was drunk, cold and music-less), which just seems really unfair and selfish. Let the kids have their music, we got fucked over but I don't think that justified our stealing the venue from some kids who are probably just as passionate about their music, if not more, than us! It would've been wiser to hold off and maybe throw it another week. I know, it sounds easy from a ravers perspective, and someone who didn't put such an incredible amount of work that you guys did to get this party off for us (and I'm deeply thankful for it!), but it's lack of planning showed. Next party any crew throws their, I'd gladly volunteer to help keep the hallways clear and traffic moving throughout the night. Just give me a badge or a flashlight or something, hell, I could just bring my own. Props on the last-minute props, lighting, sound and decorations though, an admirable try. |

My friend and I got there about 11, and when we were walking up the first wave of cops were already there. We waited outside to see if the cops would leave, and of course, they did. We knew they would be back though, so we didn't go inside.
Instead we sat and talked with the lighting crew for like 2 hours. We went home and the crew came over to crash at my friends place so they could get some sleep before driving all the way back to LA. We were all up until like 5am giggling and talking in the dark. Sleepovers are fun. ![]() And damn, I never get to parties before 11pm. That's when they get good usually anyway. I heard it was fun inside while it lasted, but also heard about the raver rain inside. Yuck! Still want a refund, though. =_= |

i had a great time.
i got to the mappoint tickets SOLD OUT! ![]() only took me like 45 mins from stockton to get there when it usually takes an hour and like 20 and they already sold there 150. damn. so i stood outside of skills crying to my friend... not really. and then my friend textes me that he has an extra ticket for me! ![]() ahhh that was wayy amazing. it was about 9ish by that time then for my friend to get a ticket. he was at 711 getting some cigs. and i'm all sitting there bymyself with the saddest face. and i look up and silvan and brd are walking up. and omg. they had and extra ticket too!! ![]() so then.. got the tickets and headed over there. got lost for few minutes then found it. getting lost sometimes gets me where i need to go so we get there. i have no clue what the time was. but the cops were outside. we walked up to the entrance and they didn't check wrist bands! meaning. the crowd i was walking in with could have possibly have gone in for free. and that was a bunch of us. so inside. ohh. amazing decorations. cute pictures. lighting. amazing. but yeah. i could barely move. wayy too many people. i was standing to the side and still i was getting pushed and shoved. and the girls that were doing that were acting like they were the shit. kinda stupid. some girl was like its my birthday get the fuck out my way... ugh. so. i didn't even get alot of smiles either. people seemed all angry at each other. and i don't know, the vibe i got was a bit sketchy. and i didn't even get to see anyone. only mac ![]() i dunno. i hope its not like this at GF. please. hehe |

This was my second rave and the experience was terrible!!
I'm sorry, it was a good effort, but there were quite a few things that really sucked about this party. I only have one rave to compare it to so I don't know if this is how it usually goes and I just happened to stumble upon a really good rave for my first time, but I was disappointed. We got to the mappoint and followed the shitty ass directions to the "shuttle" where there were like 3 parked cars and nobody came! Somehow my friend got in touch with someone who was already at the rave to figure out where it is. So we drove around some more and when we were walking there some jackasses were outside telling us it was shut down and the party was moved to the city. But we checked and sure enough it was still going on. We got in there and it was so hard to breath in the heavy pot/cigarette/crack smoke and body sweat humidity (lol jp about the crack, I hope!!). It was packed from wall to wall and you couldn't move! The lines for the bathroom (which were fuckin disgusting) we terribly long and we kept having people from upstairs at a rock show or something push us out of the way because they had priority or some shit. That was annoying. It seemed like there was a ridiculous amount of people who weren't having any fun and some were really rude. The music was good, but the sound systems sucked pretty bad. I didn't even get to see the ballpit cuz I couldn't maneuver through the crowd. I really wanted a $1 water but I couldn't get over there either And when we needed some fresh air, we weren't allowed to get close to the outside. Right from the mappoint I felt this party was totally sketchy. We weren't even there but a half hour when the cops broke it up. I also felt like there were a lot more creepers there than the last rave I went to. I took 4 of my friends to this party who have never been to a rave and now they are totally turned off by the whole seen, but hopefully they'll get to experience a good one. I couldn't even see how the place was transformed "into a world only alice could dream of." I saw a few props here and there but maybe there were just too many people so I couldn't see what was going on. I did run into some really nice ravers, though. I think people should get refunds. If there is a redemption party, pleeeease don't go overcapacity! |

*only problem i saw was overcapacity. *music was AMAZING *I love the venue...just remove 50-100 people. *lights in the back room were great, good job spectrabrite *decorations in back room were so wonderful and artsy. *loved how the widescreen tvs were playing alice in wonderland *trance music was best ive heard in a while *poi spinning was great on that back platform *so many damn e-tards in there...but not a lot of people sitting except a few in the hallway, but they got up right away when i asked and... . . . . .WHO SAW ME DANCING ON THE LIGHT SHELF WAY ABOVE EVERYONE? ill write more later. |

So I was actually in a very good mood last night despite taking care of some people in the dense crowd. Let me just say first off that I hold nothing against Tri-Atom. I just felt that this party was way too crowded. There was often barely room to dance, and whenever I found a space, a line of twenty people shoved past me shortly after, often without even saying excuse me. The other thing about the crowds is the long wait there can be for the bathrooms. I also agree that the back room can get a little too warm and a fan or two would have been a really nice thing to have. I'm looking forward to a make up party and just hope there will be a little more room to get into the zone and dance. And to the person above me, I doubt Galactic Funk is going to be like that.

So glad we showed up early cuz we left early! The dude at the parking lot on 7th told us it was at the CH so we just mossied right on over. However... yeah that venue got so packed at 11:30 we couldn't move so we were like fuck this. Couldn't handle it rolling.
So THAT'S what happened with those metal kids ! No wonder they were so fucking pissed. Now I feel kinda grateful that we had the rave at all but I don't understand why we had to like, cancel their show. Did we have another venue originally that fell through? I really wasn't expecting the show to be at the CH seeing as how everybody and their mom was supposed to show up. Great decoration and music... but yeah. Usually I show up to parties at 11 and if I had, and hadn't been rolling really good, that party woulda been a bust. |
