To everyone posting a request for rave information

Tc, this post was ridiculous. I think everyone here takes shit too lightly, I recall when I first joined, asking what was up and what was going on, like every other forum, people ask before they look, its human nature.

If its happened before wheres proof?

Last two people asking for information on raves, were accused as cops, but I later found out, were normal people and I actually had met them in person before. I say let the noobs, thats what the name is there for, post questions, and if you want to do something about it, just ignore it and refrain from posting, cop, or pig, or you smell something fishy.

Thats my dollar for you all.
Its a forum, if they wanted better security, they would make it where the mods had to activate new members, ect.

So fly away new people, post away!

This is the technological age, a simple search feature on a forum will produce results... just look through the top couple pages and you'll know what's happening.

Unfortunately, kids growing up in the information age seem to lack the basic skills to search for their own information. If Google or Wikipedia doesn't return the results they want, they quickly become frustrated(like so ), having exhausted their incredibly limited resources. Their only solution, at this point, is to raise their hand and wait for a babysitter.

I went to get coffee with this girl a month ago or so. Our conversation drifted towards High School, and she confessed that without Wikipedia she wouldn't have made it through. Being the douche that I am, I started using dry wit and sarcasm to poke fun her stupidity. "Y'know, there are these buildings full of books... I think they are called 'libraries' or something like that. And these book things, well they are just bursting with all sorts of information on all sorts of subjects. And its all free!!!"

I haven't seen her since. There is something gross and unappealing about a girl that doesn't have a library card. Illiteracy = turn-off.

Great thread. We can only hope that the noobs will take the time to check this or some of the other threads out, before they post their woes. Get a mod to sticky this or something.

Sorry about my spastic children post, but, the whole thing is so confusing! I need the right info because i'm coming all the way from Vegas. I would feel terrible if I lead my vegas friends on to this non exsistent rave. None of my bay friends seem to be going to this.. If you guys prefer it, you can clarify it all to me over my myspace

What I think is that the noobs aren't really at fault. They're new and a little lost, and rather than lookin around some more, they post up their questions. Sure it gets pretty annoying and it crowds up the forums, but hey, that's what the forum is for right? Questions and answers.
I do agree with TC though. If you take a look around some more, you will find what you're looking for. Don't instantly assume that the info you're looking for is impossible to find and start posting. Chances are there was a post already, all you need to do is find it (which isn't hard) and keep up with it. Sooner or later, the answers you need will pop up.
So I recommend new RLers to search for whatever you need to know, but I encourage to ask questions, cause you're not stupid, you're just a noob

And about the paranoia and cops thing...DONT YOU SEE THEIR PLAN. They're trying to make us argue and fight with each other and we ultimately destroy the rave community from within by ourselves. Evil bastards...

The threads askin for drugs, i definitely agree are pretty fuckin obvious/stupid in general. But hey, noobs will be noobs. Cops will be cops just lookin for an easy catch.


As for the party info......flyers, bulletins, roll-call threads, costume threads, need a ride threads........all they do is get the word out about parties even more. If a cop REALLY wants to shut down a party, they WILL make the effort. There ARE permitted parties out there, and if a cop makes all this effort only to fail than its pretty pointless for them. If a party is marked 'all ages, underground' and looks pretty unprofessional, then its an easier target they will go for.

My opinion, go ahead and help people out but dont give TOO much away. Telling them to call the info line like any other person is help enough. Party information is swarmed all over the internet already anyways.

If you truly wanted an underground party, you wouldnt over hype it all over myspace, ravelinks, bayraves, and hand out flyers in front of highschools and college bulletin boards.

Its just a matter of common sense in the end. Helping out a fellow raver with one post, curious how to find out HOW to get there is fine. Helping out a cop looking for drugs or the EXACT address is a different story.

Let the newbies figure it out for themselves.

My issue isn't that they're noobs trying to find out information, i mean, that's how Banana started out. All I'm saying is that 9/10 times you can do a quick search on the forum and find out exactly what you want to see. When I can't find exactly what I want, I check bayraves (yeah, evil. i know) and look for fliers.

It just always gives me the mental image of Bill Gates holding out his hand trying to get free money. You have the knowledge, it's a matter of utilizing it.

I think the biggest way to FIX THE PROBLEM would be to get the aim chatroom Ravelinks up and running again. Everyone switched to stickam and now it's totally dead. The reason why people post new threads asking about raves is because they're impatient. Aim on the other hand, is the epitome of getting easy information.

As far as the cop thing goes, it has happened and it will. There are multiple sting operations that are now patrolling these boards. Giving out addresses, start times, end times, all ages, ticket price, zip code, social security number of all promoters, and the secret launch code for every nuke is what will help aid the sting to happen. The thing about cops is that they don't realize that we are all just friendly people. Sure a couple people die every year from drug overdose, but think of all the thousands being killed by cops. Just last weekend there was a cop who ran over 3 bikers, not to mention the lady that was shot while eating an apple because it "resembled a grenade." It'd be nice to have a scene that isn't regarded as something that's a "drain on society" by the people who aren't really helping society either.

So we have just cause in choosing to not give out information. You don't ask a girl you've been dating for a couple weeks all of her banking information because you know that's something she flat out is not going to tell you. Same thing should be going for us giving out information to random ass people.

Tc, there is a difference between a rave address and banking information.
Raves didn't used to have forums, they used to actually be underground and word of house, maybe instead of just not giving information out or even posting flyers on the internet we just go back to the old days eh?
