This member is the original thread starter. Smile My Epic time last night with out POP

Well I for one didn't go to POP. I wasn't about to pay $70 and not have any Psy trance. I've been to massives in my early years @ the cow palace even. Not really my cup of tee. Although If I was spinning there. That would be a different story.

So anyways. Here is what I did instead. First I watched the UFC PPV. There were some great fights. After that I flipped a quarter to decide what to do next. Eat some dinner(Which I felt to lazy to make or go and get). Or drop some MDMA my friend gave me last week. I flipped the quarter. Heads it is. Looks like I'll be dropping. Keep in mind I haven't dropped in about 5 years. .

It was a nice smooth trip. I had the eye jigglers a few times which use to be one of my favorite things about it. But my most favorite thing about it is listening to my mixes. When I listen to them while i'm rolling. It's like i'm not listening to my mix. I get in to it and it seems like I never heard the mix before. Which is great. I'm not listening to it and analyzing at all. My mind doesn't separate the songs of mix like when I'm sober. Most of the time when i'm rolling I can't even remember what song is coming in next. It was a great journey.

First I was listening to some new tracks that I recently made in a set that will be available as a double CD as soon as I make the mix. Some of them I played at Camp Forestology(what the set was made for originally). As it was kicking in and I started grooving. I came up with the name for this CD. It's going to be called. "It's double E". You see because there are going to be 2 cd's. I took 2 pills last night. And also becuase when you spell my name. It has 2 E's at the end. So I think the name fits just right.

So now the is rolling good. Time to listen to a mix. I started off with my CD PROGoa. Which is some progressive goa style music at around 136 BPM. I loved it. Perfect for the early stage of roll or party.

Then I listened to Epic Adventure. Which is some melodic/epic style trance. The BPM was faster so I was enjoying it as well. Not my usual style but I wanted to make this mix anyways for something different. This CD was perfect for being second.

After that CD. I popped pill #2. Until it kicked in a little I listened to some more tracks from the upcoming CD. Those songs rocked hard as well even without a mix.

Now the time is around 2 am. I put on my mix from Heroes which by coincidence was played from 2-3. So I was able to put myself back at that party in my mind. Except this time I was in the crowd with all of you guys grooving my ass off. This mix is more of a harder psy trance mix made for peak hour at about 144 BPM. It gets a little more progressive/psy at the end which was perfect because Saphyre played after me. That was a perfect 1 2 punch at that party.

Then I was suppose to listen to Galactic Funk 08. But I ended up listening to most of my own tracks. Including the ones that I put out on vinyl back in 2002. All these songs sounded great. I'm really judgmental on my own music. But with a roll. It's like I never heard these songs before. Again I got lost in the groove. I'm not sure what style you would call my own tracks. It has psy trance elements. But it breaks up and down to a 4/4 pattern sort of like techno or progressive.

Now the time is like 4 or 5. I finally put on the Galactic Funk 08 mix. This mix is some even harder psy with a space type theme to it. My roll was still there but not as strong. I started to remember what songs are coming in next. But I was able again to place my mind back at that party. Even for coming down. This mix gave me some more energy and grooving on my couch.

I didn't even use my dj equipment to listen to my mixes. My computer speakers are pretty damn rocking. I also watched 3 DR Spook(The one that did the visuals at Galactic Funk). visual DVD's on my big screen which which was some nice eye candy. Also my first time hitting the volcano on E. Very nice.

So yeah even with out going to POP or kicking it with anybody. I had an Epic night. My mind need that expansion again. It was good being able to hear what my music sounds like to you guys.

If I ever do decide to roll again. I was thinking of making it a little party or something. Maybe like 10 people or something. Some of you out there that seem to enjoy my music and have been really cool to me. Let you into my world if you will. You guys no who you are. I use to have little E parties like that all the time. My pad is perfect for it as well. No neighbors. Big screen with sick visuals. Volcano. Comfy couches. Some room to dance even. I think it would be fun. I dunno we'll have to see how this comedown goes first(the reason I quit doing E in the first place). So far I feel pretty good. Not too cracked out.

So yeah I survived just fine with out POP.

Instead of coming up for Popsikle, I ended up being busy in LA having to switch dorm rooms. Basically moving stuff from my old place to my new place across the street, so now my arms are all dead from carrying heavy boxes up and down stairs and such. My parents came down to visit though and help me move, so ive just been chillin with them and showin em around down here.

and now i gotta take summer classes for the next 12 weeks, so i basically get no summer vacation whatsoever.

Sausee this is why i love you.

After five years I'm glad you brought it back while listening to your tracks.

I can't imagine how weird it would be after five years of spinning w/o hearing any music while rolling, to hear it how a lot of your fans do AT events.

Even not rolling for 2-3 months is weird for me....i don't really remember the difference in terms of music....cause it overtakes me sober anyways.

But yeah....i'm excited to listen to "it's double e" and see what its got.

who knows....maybe it'll be the next time i pop after this break
