haha yeah if i had posted Broadway people would have gotten it in two seconds.
i've looked at layouts.....i know how i'd do it. but like i said....*impossible* unless you have TONS of money and skill at knowing what would need to be done to get it through safely and without problems. |

not to mention it's a national park (or at least it's operated by the national park foundation) and you'd never get permission...and if there were any sort of charges they would be federal if you went renegade :P

i mentioned that in a PM.
im pretty sure its federally owned meaning you COULD get it permitted for events....but DOUBT for an EDM event. but somehow i actually think it is owned by the state...not the country. i'll look it up for kicks. oh wow. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] even if you did get everything set up well, here is the problem: Certificate of Insurance: The National Park Service requires a Certificate of Insurance, listing the United States as "additionally insured" for the date(s) of the event or activity. This liability coverage includes operations, personal injury, product liability, property damage and loss, and other necessary categories to be listed in the permit (range: $1,000,000 to $5,000,000). Security Deposit: For high impact events, permittees must post a bond payment (a cashier's check) made payable to the National Park Service. The bond amount is based upon projected number of attendees and level and scope of event activities. The deposit is refundable unless it must be used (in whole or part) for site cleanup, trash removal, or property damage. those two raise the price massively. and im pretty sure the rooms they let you use aren't even the library or the kitchen, which would be the best. Ahhh, damn government and liability... ![]() Federal charges...felony = no thanks... I think it's OWNED by the state, but it's governed by the...government... I think once something is military (or federal prison for that matter) it will always be governed federally... |

yeah like i said.....my estimate?
throwing an EDM event there would cost probably around 6 million in total. hell....if i ever have 20 mill maybe ill do it. it would get people from all of california. but it would have to be like 8 pm - 8 am and i don't know if there IS a permit for that.... you add a bunch for even more permits, hiring several ferrys to get people there, TONS of security, and a large enough production that actually gets people there. i feel the hardest would be proving to the government that you can do it safe. i'd personally be afraid of people jumping in the water or going off into other places of alcatraz, some of which are dangerous. some ravers just aren't ready for some venues. |

yea i'm just saying that thats a LOT of money.
ahhhhh yea i guess i gotta agree that some ravers just aren't ready for some venues...especially some of the drugged out ones...imagine a fried-out dude locking himself in a cell or getting eaten by sharks... |

i would NOT suggest frying or shrooming in such a venue. |

It usually only costs $100-300 for one days worth of million dollar insurance.
Would be dope, but a huge pain in the ass. Only crew I could see trying something like this, if it's even possible would be skills. |

and i added that skills would never have the creativity, balls, or hmph to do it. only massive crew i know that would go for it if they had the money would be 'fresh' down in socal. |

If skills had the balls to do a massive there, I'd go even with the $100+ ticket... And fuck creativity when you're throwing a massive on Alcatraz. Of course it doesn't hurt, but fuck what more do you need than a bunch of laser just so the rest of the bay knows you're there.
