So Pat's birthday party. Yes, it was illegal. So what? Who was getting hurt? From the time I was there no one. In fact, police came too early and told people to leave. What if they were incapable of driving? Who is setting unsafe conditions now?
This is one of those moments where I am disappointed with this country. And it is sad to know that I pay taxes which pays for their salaries so that they go against me. I am leaving soon so I wanted to go to a few more of these events before I left. And what? One of them had to get shut down. The whole rave scene is not present in Bulgaria. If you want to party, you just do it in a club or in your home. No one will call the police. Last summer we were at the sea and at some hotel type of deal. We were loud each night. So one day the police came and sees 40 14-15 years olds drunk beyond belief. What did they do? We invited them to drink with us and they did. In America this could never happen. Oh well. There is my view on this. =\ |

The fact that you are way to fucked up to drive gives you no right to pass blame on the cops. It is fully your responsibility. Dont get me wrong. I hate it when cops break up a party. But personally I am always prepared by either having a sober driver OR having enough money for a taxi in case the driver is to messed up to drive. Cliffnotes: Dont pass judgement on others when it is your fault you put yourself in a sticky situation. GROW UP! |

uhm, I agree with u Alakaza in some aspects. Yeah i think its stupid for the cops to break up parties where they know there are people who are whether correctly or incorrectly too drugged up or drunk to drive. However, Glaze has a point in saying that ultimately everyone has to be responsible before they do something. i don't think your trying to take away from anyone's responsibility in your post, u just seem to be frustrated at the way our police force here in america functions, and yes there are many things in our legal system that dont make sense but cops breaking up a rave is not one of our bigger problems.

"the system works" --> for who? I mean dont get me wrong i wouldnt live anywhere else but America...however, u need to be consciouses that there are many people who get screwed by the system. Unfortunately in our capitalist society the more money you have the more you are able to make the system work for you.... the rest at the bottom of the socio-economic pyramid are often left to fend for their own. Look at how many rich people who do illegal stuff can get away with it, why because they have the economic means to "work" the system to their advantage, unfortunately not everyone has those same means. Our legal system is not perfect, thats all i am saying.

We are getting into political views now. Should we continue? This could get good.

yeh it sucks, but it comes with the territory. if you're gonna do something illegal, you're bound to be harassed by the authorities at every available chance. honestly, i'd bitch about it too. but whats frustrating for ppl like us is that you can only bitch about the situation and not the police. they're just doing their job. granted some of them can be harsh... but nevertheless, they're all just trying to get their job done. you can't really blame them for much (</~~ love my choice of words?
).its like if we get pulled over for speeding. although we may mouth off a few obscenities to our friends after the citation.. but fuck, in the end, we can only get pissed for getting caught, not for the officer trying to prevent a car accident. (tho i'd still flip the asshole off after citation ) |
