SNIP!
Maybe they (newbies) can bring the energy to revitalize what weve been looking for, maybe they have new insights to what a rave experience can be. Dont tell them it sucks now and it used to be good, tell them, they can make it better with whatever positive energy they have.

Well said. I've been involved at some level or another for a long time, and things HAVE changed. However, that's not to say that they are better or worse...just different ...but in a similar kind of way.
New experiences are inevitably going to shine in comparison to later experiences of the same thing. So once your "Rave Virginity" is gone, it'll never be like the first experience.
But I've said it before, NOW is the important aspect. Are you happy with what's going on this minute? Cause that's all that matters.
Change is the only constant..people change, music changes, the scene changes...but there is always going to be a current of continuity back to the origins and the previous manifestations of what we do....
I can trace our lineage back through to tribal cultures...we're just reinventing the wheel. So the "Scene" from that perspective, I don't think, will ever "Die"...it just changes outfits...changes names...changes the sound track.. but it's all one line going back into history to the dawn of music and celebration itself. Somthing so inherant that it can never die...it is a part of HUMAN culture as much as it is part of rave culture.
That's what I saw the first rave I went to...my true lineage back to the beginning of culture and society. That's why I rave at all, it is the shamans dance celebrating life.
