I went ViP last year got see PVD come up helal escorted by tons of security guards, and parties in the special VIP area free unlimited drinks all night kicked ass, our own special entrance did as well. Man, I had a blast. But I can't go this year. Everyone have fun & be safe!

i keep hearing from everyone i talk to that the venue is balls and its not gonna be worth going to. me and a few others all have our hearts set on socal for a road trip new years though and there's another (maybe outdoor) two night event with ferry corsten and armin van buuren.... so we'll seeeee. who are you planning to go with, rachel?


and diana.... hooooook it up with VIPs, that would make it worthwhile lol

Oh and I heard there is some other kick ass event going on that night called Giant which I think is at the staples center. That would be what I would go to if I was road trippin. Don't know what venue is being used but the Arena is decent not a bad spot. Did they tell u why it was "balls"? LOL!

hah, well.. i heard monster massive was waaay too packed (1hr+ to get from 1 room to another), and made the traffic congestion at mad hatters look like a breeze. but other than that i havent gotten too many details. my friends just say there's no way they're going to a party there... after that, i dont really ask any more questions.

that's odd I couldn't find much info about Giant, I know last year it went off cuz we were got bad directions and got stuck in traffic for days for Giant instead of TAO, we finally got on the right track and got in hella quick to TAO. We were also going to some outdoor in a forest but the weather was crap so it was cancelled. Socal parties have always been hit of miss for me. Either there really good or they suck really bad, no in between. U should post in the Socal area see if any ravers offer suggestions they know there grounds better than any norcal'er would. TAO WAS THE FUCKING SHIT LAST YEAR!!! i would say it's definitely worth it. but yeah, it is a massive. i would expect a lot of people. hopefully not over packed like monster massive though?? cause i heard about that :/

i'll keep lookin for info about it. sucks it didnt work out last year.. so wait, buying VIP tix was a spontaneous last minute decision? haha, musta been a crazy new years. the outdoor thing i heard about has like a bunch of blocked off streets with a bunch of different acts playing, some rock and other stuff then a whole area for electronic. and yea i first heard that TAO might not be the place to be from the socal boards on here, i'd hate to waste a trip down on one that was a miss.. i realize its hard to predict for sure, but i wanna be as FOR SURE as possible. thanks, and happy thanksgiving!

I don't think so unless there is nothing else going on that night. I think MM is one of the biggest events in Socal, heard it was packed two years ago as well. TAO was fun times but honestly I enjoyed EDC way more. Security was assholes to me at TAo cuz I lost my keys and cell phone and one they hella argued with me taht I couldnt go in. I had to explained I was from Nocal and would be riding Greyhound back for a spare (that was a lie I didn't have my car with me but I did have to break into my own house since my house), had to explain to like 5 differnet security guards. We after partied at the hotel Alexandria that was pretty fun, but it was lame we paid hella to go to TAO and paid another like $10 or $15 to after party.

Oh the funny thing is that I remember when we had PNY hella so cal'ers would drive up here and say that TAO sucked and blah blah blah.. and all of use would drive to LA and say PNY sucks.. haha. But I think TAO is a decent event I had fun. I mean its a change of scenery.

Also depends on who u go with, that makes all the difference in the world. You know even if a party sucks if ur friends are there the situation isnt as bad. What i loved about last years TAO is that I kept bumping into NorCalers. I didn't even know some of them but they came up to me and told me they had seen me at party in SF. That was cool!

sounds like MM had more promotion that TAO has had.. so i guess MM is one of the biggest.. that's hectic losing anything at a rave, but SHITE! losing stuff at a massive. cant believe you found it.

and yes, i def know that fun had @ raves is determined by who you rave with.

OH and I didn't find my phone or my car keys, they were a loss.
