I do not support Zapas events, nor would I support any promoter that has done business the way they have the past 2+ years.

I have several valid reasons which do not need to be discussed on this board because I respect the lack of drama here.

I have never been to a Zapas event, i hear alot of negative things towards them but i'll still go just to see how it is and if i like it. doesnt look to bad... haha

I understand your POV entirely idiotbox, the MAIN reason i am going to the revolution is to support a friend who is spinning =) however i am not condemning zapas for what happened, but i really would like to hear of it being resolved, and NEVER hear of it happening again. What happened sucked, and sucked more for the talent.

i dunno what else to say, sucks that the drama went down with such a big production company in the bay area.

Ive supported crews that I dont like before. I cant really seem to get away from it. I dont like Skills, but I still go to Love Parade/Fest and the afterparty.
I think it is a good idea for ravers to be informed about the scene that theyre supporting tho. From there, they can make informed decisions.

Yeah, I hear all the bad shit about the Zapa's. Someone who shall remain nameless has related a horrific story or two. But my friend is getting off probation this week. And he wants to do this. So we're doing it. Plus, I am a fan of their house djs. I love house and they are one of the only crews in the bay area who spins the type of house I like.

Owing TELIC over $1,000...

Threating SEVERAL people over the past 2&1/2 years that if they talk shit or leave thier "crew" they'll be physically hurt or "will never get booked again."



If the FPR3 incident was the only thing that happend - dispite the fact that it was a HUGE ordeal in which at least 5 headliners that I know of didn't get paid (the 3 hardcore headliners, Heather, and Alex Calver) and made our ENTIRE SCENE look bad to the WHOLE WORLD in which some great headliners don't even want to come out to SF now - even if that was the only incident, maybe it wouldn't be so bad. But the fact that thier shady & bullyness has been going on constantly for 2&1/2 years... when is it time to say STOP, we won't accept this in our scene anymore.



If you guys want positive things in our scene to happen, like having more than 1 party a night to choose from, or seeing a variety of DJs play instead of the same ones over & over, YOU - the ravers - have to use your voice to make positive changes happen, and not turn a blind eye to things like this.

Sorry if it takes out the fun & unknowing excitement for ya, but it's better to learn & do something earlier on then to put it off til later when it's only going to get harder.



About the person going to FPR3 to support his friend playing:

I've always been big on going to events to show support for friends. Some of the biggest support you can do for a DJ is just being there for thier set & dancing to it. But after the TELIC thing a couple years ago, I made it clear to my DJ friends that sorry I would love to be there for your set, but I can't support the Zapas. I wasn't very vocal (although I never fronted) about my non-support of the Zapas, but a way I felt that I could stand on my disapproval of what they were doing was simply stop going to thier events.


Anyway, ya'll can do what you want of course... It just upsets me when I hear people go "Oh yeah I heard they did some shit but the flyer looks cool let's party!" I mean really... Let's keep some integrity in our scene...

My feelings exactly. Some say there's another R at the end of PLURR for responsibility. When you support people who take advantage of others, you are enabling them to continue to take advantage of others because it sends the message that they can do that type of shit and still have your support.
