Why are there rarely any massive raves in SF. I was talking to one of my friends who was an old raver. He told me about huge raves that he used to go to, including one in Candlestick Park!

At least a few 10k+ kiddie massives a year were common up until... hrm...2002-2003?

I guess the current big Skills parties still count as massives??

But yeah Candlestick, Santa Clara fairgrounds, Henry J Kaiser, Homebase, 85 & Baldwin, bunch of other venues, they all have former rave funk.

yeah the last massive i went to was ETD pop at the Bill Graham, that was fun

which brings us back to the question...of why? What happen? Im i guess new to the scene and my first massive was POP...n i would like to have the opportunities to attend more massives.

Electric Daisy Carnival in L.A. will not disappoint if you're lookin for a massive.

Worth the drive for sure!

Hell yeah..already got my ticket!!

And well the best for part of me is that I already will be in LA so i wont have to do the 6 hour drive down...although im sure road trip with a bunch of RL would've probably been lots of fun too...oh well... hope to see yall there.

I need a crew from SF to take the trip down to LA, the eletric daisy carnival sounds awesome.

I spent a few years back and forth with the LA scene. The massives down there are something to behold, I think every serious raver from SF needs to make the trip down there at least once.

Not sure if LA is still how I remember, but I know for sure it's still way bigger.

In LA...

- went to a massive at a ski resort
- seen better lineups
- skate demos with big halfpipes
- actual carnival rides
- the fashion...oh, the fashion!
- 20k+ attendances

i want to know how raves started becoming just a party.
i have a feeling that Lift 2 will make up for all those other "raves" but Trippindicular was my last actually satisfied rave id kida consider a mini massive??

sadly all the really kick ass massives ended in 99. Skills still does some at the bill gram which are a good time for sure, but they are nothing compaired to the old warehouse parties that they and other crews used to do. Nothing beats a huge dirty warehouse for a party, especially if they can go untill the lights come out and they are all ages with minimal searching. Plus way more people used to dress up back in the day which hella helped with the atmosphere.
