Seen any good movies lately?

First of all, Go see the ATHF movie.

Second, Blood diamond was really really good! Very interesting story, the diamond trade is ruthless! Leonardo DiCaprio is actually a very good actor, and jennifer connelly is hot :x

Agree with Lowball... 300 was off the hook, saw it in regular then saw it in Imax. grindhouse was crazy too specially the climax chase scene on the second movie!

"GrindHouse" is f-ing great. Loved the trailers between the two films, "Thanksgiving," don't! LOL, hope to see ATHF this weekend. Also "300" was really good too. I bet it was cool in IMAX.

For the renters:

I just re watched blade runner, which is always a great movie, and an even better read. Fuck it, anything by Phil Dick rocks me.

If you haven't seen it check out Notorious with Ingrid Birgman. She's hotter than a crotch full of lye.

Babel is a great on on the shelf i just watched. Good conversation pieceto boot.

I also re watched Ran. A great movie, especially if you're into shakespear or samurai. If you're into both, your in for a helluva treat.



In theaters:

300 was off the hook, even if it was a little self affirming. Besides the Greek in me went home with a sense of pride bigger than I ever thought possible.



Also, I've got Logans run here waiting to be watched, I've never seen it, but here goes nuthin! Any other recommendations?

DVD: Reincarnation. It's one of those "After Dark Horrorfest" movies. I was beading between reading the subtitles and it still scared the fuck out of me.

Theatres: Most of the above. 300 was visually epic. And you can't go into Grindhouse without remembering that 1) it's an homage to cheesy b-movies of the 70s and 2) it's done by Rodriguez and Tarantino. If you can't stand insane gore and long (but very engrossing and well-written) tangents in the dialogue, save yourself 8 bucks. Otherwise, that shit makes my fave movies list.

Previews: Spiderman 3. Venom was always my favorite villain. Hobgoblin was a close second. 28 Weeks Later because I'm a zombie fan and loved 28 Days Later (go see it if you haven't already). Hot Fuzz because I loved Shaun of the Dead. The Beginning, an indie zombie flick being filmed in Santa Cruz. Myspace it/Youtube the previews. It looks legit and sometimes they ask their Myspace friends to be extra zombies. Finally, Pirates of the Caribbean 3 because I'm a girl, a nerd, a Johnny Depp fan, and that preview looked legitimately good.

If Hollywood can make these movies as good as their previews, then they might be able to redeem themselves after about 2 years of straight up bad movies.
