What you experience is real, even if it is not the same experience as someone else had at that same moment, right next to you. But it is also more dreamlike than we realize. The Universe is not externally generated, it is generated from our internal point of view. So next time some one asks if you think the world revolves around you, say "No, but I am the center of my Universe!"

sometimes i get that .. mostly because i get really realistic dreams and when you even think back at it, memories of dreams can be deciving when you compre it to memories of the past.. what was real? how do you proove one was more real than the other?
yeah its subjective on the person though. i mean, how do you proove we arent dreaming right now? you simply can't. ride the roller coaster of life and even if you are dreaming right now, just make sure you have a smile on your face to make life worth your while. =) PLUR |

But I think that when people 'adjust' their perspective on reality through any of the various means available to do so, you get a glimpse at the pliability of your own perspective on what is real, and it can be a startling experience. Eventually, though, you (or I at least) come to realize that it doesn't matter what things appear to be, but what you believe them to be that makes the difference. I've been fond of the following statement regarding reality. "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they are not really following you." Because it seems to simply and elegantly imply that perspective is one thing, reality is another, but we cannot really seperate the two. |
